This project is a great example of what can be achieved by people working together. If you are not already following them, it is worth doing that now.

In the Diss Express...

Residents may soon be able to frolic through a colourful new public green space in Harleston. Jill Tan recently lodged plans with South Norfolk Council, seeking to bring agricultural land in Rushall Road into community use.

Ms Tan hoped it would improve biodiversity and allow for more trees, flowers and hedges to be planted.

In addition, it would contain a circular footpath, allowing people to stroll around the site. Existing trees and hedges would remain. The application will go before planners soon.

We are receiving photos for our FREE Nature's Architects exhibition. The criteria is quite relaxed, we are really celebrating nature in general. Here are some of the photos. Thank you to Pauline Bullen and Neil Saunders.

Worryingly, 80% of butterflies have declined since the 1970s. These delicate icons of summer respond quickly to environmental change, making their decline a powerful warning sign of a planet in peril.

The good news? There is hope. With just 15 minutes of your time, you can help protect UK butterfly species for future generations.

That’s it. One small action that contributes to a much bigger effort to help save our butterfles.
