WOMBLE is a pretty little 8 yr old Lurcher who's under the care of Newcastle Dog and Cat Home, but currently in foster care.

Her fosterer says : "She’s vaccinated, spayed and chipped and up to date with flea too.
She’s such a gorgeous girl, proper softy.
Loves to cuddle up to you on the sofa or in bed. Loves to play with other dogs, I have a labradoodle and they love playing with each other. But she is nervous out in public, and needs her confidence built back up. She loves her zoomies round the enclosed pen I’ve taken her too, I’m not allowed to let her off lead as a requirement of the shelter so I can’t say how she’d be in an open field but in the pen she comes back to me after a good run and recalls to her name 70% of the time.
Good on lead, 90% toilet trained. No cats or other small pets. She’s an absolute cutie and the lushest nature. "

FOREST is still seeking his forever home @ LURCHER LINK RESCUE

Forest is a 15-month-old male brindle lurcher

Forest is currently still growing. He is of chunky build, and will probably reach about 26" to the shoulder when fully-grown.

Forest is very friendly with all people.

Forest is very friendly with other dogs and would be best rehomed where there is a steady older dog to learn from.

Forest has previously lived with cats, but did chase and pounce on them - but we think that was typical lurcher rough-play rather than trying to harm them. It's possible that Forest could live with a VERY CONFIDENT DOG-SAVVY cat with experienced owners who are willing and able to carefully supervise interactions.

Forest is a typical lurcher youngster - very bouncy, can be quite full-on and plays quite roughly at the moment. He needs regular time in a secure area (garden or hired secure dog-field) to burn off energy, and would be best in an experienced home with lots of routine.

No young children - Forest is very bouncy and full-on at times and so liable to knock little children over.

MARS is still looking for a new home @ LURCHER LINK RESCUE.
Mars is a 4-year-old male saluki-lurcher
💚Mars is a favourite amongst the volunteer dog walkers and is a delight to have around. Mars has really mellowed in the few months he has been with us.
💚Mars is now much more tolerant of other dogs and isn't reactive on walks anymore unless another dog gets in his face. He even backed away and didn't react to a small bossy dog who was telling him off the other day.
💚Walks nicely on the lead
❌Mars has a high prey-drive and cannot be off-lead unless it's in a secure area or somewhere without small furries (rabbits etc!). He’ll need a secure garden and sighthound-experienced owners
❌Not suitable to live with cats or other small furries
‼ Mars can be noisy when left. He will prefer a new home where someone is around most of the time
Mars is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Pixie is a 7 yr old bitch at Barnsley Animal Rescue who is looking for a new home and isn't having much luck :(

She's a little black bitch who just wants someone to hang around with in a loving home. She'll need a secure garden though and no small furries around!

MILO needs a new home @ LURCHER LINK RESCUE

MILO is a 18-month-old male whippet-lurcher cross.

Milo is approximately 24” to the shoulder. 

Friendly with dogs. Currently living with a smaller, older dog in foster and getting on well except that Milo is a bit too bouncy for her (he’s just a typical zoomy young lurcher)

Knows some basic commands - sit, give paw and will come back when playing fetch.

Toilet trained

Travels well in a car 

Used to sleeping in a crate and will take himself off to sleep for a few hours. Can be left home alone for a few hours

Milo can get a bit anxious in noisy busy public spaces, and is also scared of the hoover, plastic bags and people shouting - he will need time and patience to build his confidence. He may benefit from being rehomed with an older confident dog 

Milo seems fine with children, but as he is young and full of energy he’s best not rehomed with very young children who he might accidentally knock over. 

Not cat tested

Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped

MILO is in the care of LURCHER LINK RESCUE. He is in a foster home in South Yorkshire.
