Who’s feeling brave? 🥶🌙

I’m inviting all my Facebook friends to join us for The Big Street Sleep Out at Eureka in Halifax on Saturday 7th November, 8pm–7am!

We can lend you kit to help keep you warm. We’ll be on a safe site, with the possibility of some shelter, but spending the night outside will give us a small glimpse of the conditions people experiencing homelessness face.

An encouraging update ❤️

Someone was living in a tent in Burnley in January, and Paul, our Homeless Pastor in Burnley, has been supporting him ever since. Paul has worked with him for nearly 12 months, sticking with him like glue, and will continue to support him into the future.

Paul recently referred him to a service that offers recovery from addiction, accommodation and ongoing support. Our team took him for his assessment today, which went well. He’s the only person on the list who is currently street homeless, so he has moved to the top of the list. He needs to call on Thursday to find out whether a place is available.

This is almost a daily example of going above and beyond for The Light Group. A special thank you to our team for taking him for tea, buying him food, walking him to the station, putting him on the train home and giving him bus fare. The Light Group bought him his train ticket. Our team is also going to help him register with a doctor and apply for benefits next Tuesday.

He said that he can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and feels that he’s not alone. Thank you to Paul for faithfully supporting him and helping him towards this next step.

Please keep him in your prayers. We’re really hoping he gets a place and the opportunity for a fresh start 🙏❤️

HOPE ON THE STREETS OF HALIFAX❤️🙏

Another Sunday, another opportunity to stand alongside people in our community and remind them that they don’t have to face life’s struggles alone.

Our Halifax outreach is about so much more than handing out food. It’s about people, relationships and hope. It’s sitting down, listening to someone’s story, understanding what they’re facing and helping them take those next steps towards housing, recovery, supportive communities and a more stable future.

Sometimes change begins with the simplest thing — someone showing up, listening and believing that your life can be different.

Week after week, our incredible volunteers do exactly that. They give their time, their hearts and their compassion to serve others and build genuine relationships within our community.

A huge thank you to Greggs for the continued food donations and New Beginnings Church for faithfully supporting us each week.

We’ll keep showing up.
We’ll keep walking alongside people.
And we’ll keep believing that there is always hope and a way forward.

🌟 THE LIGHT GROUP AT FIXED ’26 – BOLTON!

Today, we're exhibiting at FIXED ’26 at the Bridge Church in Bolton, celebrating recovery, sharing testimonies and connecting with organisations passionate about seeing lives transformed!

At The Light Group, we walk alongside people affected by homelessness and addiction, offering practical support, recovery groups, pathways into housing and rehab, and connections into supportive Christian communities.

🙏 We're also inviting people to join our ministry and sign up for our Homeless Pastors training, equipping people to take the love of Jesus onto the streets and into the lives of those who need hope.

From lived experience to helping others find freedom, we believe everyone has a purpose and a part to play!

Bradford – More Than a Meal ❤️

Today we were back in Bradford, supporting people facing homelessness, addiction and difficult circumstances.

We spent time listening, building relationships and having real conversations about the support available. From there, we guided people into the safe and welcoming space at Fountains Church, joining the Fountains team at their Well Wellbeing Café.

It’s a place where people can sit down, enjoy a warm meal, play games, build friendships and know they are genuinely welcomed.

The Light Group continues to support people with practical pathways into housing, emergency accommodation, rehab, recovery and supportive communities, while Fountains Church provides pastoral care, food and a place to belong.

It’s about much more than meeting an immediate need. It’s about walking alongside people, building trust and helping them take positive steps forward.

A huge thank you to everyone who serves and supports this work each week. Together, we’re helping people feel seen, heard, valued and supported. ❤️🙏
