Congratulations are in order for Carol Sacchett, who was the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award for TALK Surrey at CSVA’s Volunteer Awards this year! ⭐️

Carol has dedicated over 20 years to TALK in various roles. She began as a Walton Group volunteer for five years, before becoming a SLT consultant to TALK and volunteer trainer. Eight years ago, Carol joined the trustees, successfully serving as Chair for five of those years. In 2021, she returned to lead the Walton group. In her spare time, Carol raises funds for TALK by selling her own handmade stained-glass pieces. Her professional expertise in Speech and Language Therapy has been invaluable in helping members understand aphasia, from its neurological impacts to its day-to-day effects on their lives.

Thank you Carol for continually going above and beyond in support of TALK, we appreciate you! 👏

Staff announcement! 🎉 We are delighted to welcome Carina to the team as our new Support & Impact Coordinator.

Here's a bit more about Carina, in her own words:

"I am passionate about creating projects that make a positive difference in people's lives, and I particularly enjoy supporting projects that work alongside communities, drawing on their strengths, knowledge, and experiences to create meaningful and sustainable change. I have a Master of Public Health and experience supporting projects in local and international development sectors.

Outside of work, I love to read, travel, and try different hobbies like colouring and knitting. You'll often find me playing games on my computer or watching TV with my partner and our cats."
