🌿 Expressions of Interest for the Green Health Fund are now open!!

We're delighted to launch this new funding opportunity supporting charities and community groups that use nature-based approaches to improve health and wellbeing across Surrey.

Organisations can apply for a two-year grant of up to £10,000 per year (up to £20,000 in total). Applications follow our usual process, with organisations first submitting a short Expression of Interest before selected applicants are invited to complete a full application.

If you're delivering activities that help people connect with nature, improve their wellbeing, build confidence, reduce isolation or support healthier lives through the use of natural green and blue spaces, we'd love to hear from you.

If you'd like to find out more before applying, join one of our upcoming online Q&A sessions on 14, 19 or 26 October. These sessions will provide an overview of the fund, eligibility criteria and application process with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Sometimes the most useful resource in the room is another organisation. Surrey has an extraordinary range of charities and community organisations, with huge amounts of knowledge, expertise and experience between them.

We want to create more opportunities for that knowledge to be shared.

That's why CFSurrey is increasingly exploring Communities of Practice alongside grant funding - bringing organisations working on similar issues together to make connections, share learning, discuss challenges and learn from one another.

Funding individual organisations remains important... But if we can also strengthen the relationships between organisations, we can help build a stronger and more connected sector.

That's what "Strength in partnership" means to us.

Friendship, connection and something to look forward to 💜

With a £6,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Surrey’s Elder Companionship Fund, Re-engage has provided vital human connection to more than 100 older people across Surrey through tea parties and its Call Companions telephone befriending service.

One guest shared: “I look forward to the monthly visit. Time flies by, lovely afternoon tea with new friends.”

The impact is clear: nine in ten participants say they feel happier, eight in ten now have something to look forward to, and more than half feel more connected to their community.

The Elder Companionship Fund supports local projects helping older people facing loneliness and isolation to find friendship, joy and a renewed sense of belonging.

One of the most powerful things about our Neighbourhood Needs Map is the ability to move beyond county-wide averages and explore individual communities. You can search by location and explore different indicators. You may find some things you expect, and others you don't.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Surrey Symposium on Mental Health in Young People yesterday.

It was a fantastic opportunity to bring together VCSE organisations, public sector partners and donors to share learning, strengthen connections and explore how we can collectively improve support for young people’s mental health across Surrey. Thank you to all our speakers and to everyone who contributed so openly and constructively to the discussions.

The Mental Health Scale-Up Fund was created in recognition of the unprecedented level of need for mental health support, with five-year grants helping organisations develop and expand vital services for young people across Surrey. The difference these projects are making is significant, but while so much has already been achieved, there is still much more we want the Fund to do.

With continued support, we can help more organisations reach more young people and families across Surrey.

Could something on our website make your job a little easier?

We know that running a charity or community organisation can mean wearing a lot of different hats.

So, alongside our grant funding, we've been developing a growing library of free resources for charities and community organisations.

From managing finances and developing a fundraising strategy to governance, safeguarding and measuring impact, the aim is simple: practical information that organisations can use.

‼️ You don't need to be funded by CFSurrey to use them. ‼️

And the library will continue to grow, informed by what we hear from Surrey's VCSE sector.
