💜 What a week for George Abbot PTA! 🎉

Four events in one week!

From our AGM and Year 7 Mini Musicals to Duke of Edinburgh refreshments and our New Parents’ W**e & Cheese evening — it’s been a busy one!

A HUGE thank you to Andrea, Bess, Sara, Ozzie, Naveen, Kelly, Amy and everyone who gave their time to help. 💙

It’s amazing what we can achieve when parents come together. Every event, every cake sold, every drink served and every hour volunteered makes a difference to our school community.

You don’t need to join a committee or make a big commitment. Even an hour helping at an event makes a real difference — and it’s a lovely way to meet other parents!

Four days, lots going on — and all of it run by parent volunteers.

Some people help regularly, some for one event, and some just for an hour. It all counts.

🎄 The George Abbot Christmas Fair is growing!

We’re hoping this year’s fair will be bigger and better than ever, and we’d love to bring some new local makers, artists and independent craft businesses into George Abbot.

So this is where we need your help…

Do you make or sell something lovely? Or perhaps you know a brilliant local maker who would be perfect for the fair? Tag them, share this post with them or send them our way.

Have you spotted something happening at school? 👀🏗️

The new dining hall is taking shape!

Thanks to all the fundraising and support from George Abbot families, the PTA has committed £80,000 towards the project. We’ve come a long way — but we still have £18,000 to raise.

And helping doesn’t have to mean joining a committee! ❤️

Like or share this post, come along to an event, volunteer for an hour, suggest a fundraising idea or make a donation. It all helps.

You don’t have to join the PTA to help the PTA.

Let’s see if we can get that final £18k over the line together 🙌

Thank you for coming! ☕️

It was lovely to see so many parents at our coffee morning yesterday — some completely new to George Abbot and some who have been around a little longer!

The PTA isn’t just about fundraising. It’s also about bringing parents together, building a community around the school and finding ways we can help improve the experience of pupils at George Abbot.

Thanks to everyone who came along, helped out, made cake or simply stopped for a coffee and a chat.

And if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry — there will be plenty more opportunities to get involved this year.

It’s aimed particularly at new parents, but all parents are very welcome — and you can just drop in whenever suits you.

New to George Abbot? Come and say hello! ☕️

Starting at a new school isn’t just a change for the students — it’s a new community for parents too.

Our New Parent Coffee Morning is a relaxed chance to meet other parents, find out a little more about George Abbot and understand what the PTA does (and, importantly, what it doesn’t require you to do!).

This year we’re continuing our biggest fundraising project yet: helping the school fund the new dining hall, with the PTA aiming to contribute £80,000. It’s a great example of what a school community can achieve together.
