Are you helping someone you care for move about ?

Our Moving and Handling team are experts in posture, movement and single-handed care – have two really useful sessions coming up:

📍 Demonstrating basic moving and handling techniques: Woking
📅 Monday 14 September, 2pm - 4pm

You don’t have to navigate it alone. Join us at one of our FREE Youth Mental Health Carer Fairs and talk with organisations, information and practical support for young adult carers, parent carers and families.

We know it’s not always easy to get to a support group in person when you’re juggling caring, work and family commitments. Did you know we run a number of online support groups too?

Including our friendly online Carers Support and Information Group on Saturday 5 September, 10–11.30am.

It’s a relaxed space to meet other Surrey carers, share experiences and tips, and chat with our team. Whatever your caring role, you’re very welcome.

👋 Are you a male carer? We’re have a monthly, online group just for men who care for a relative or friend.

It’s a relaxed, friendly space where male carers can talk (if you wish) about their caring experiences, ask questions and find out about local support.

The group meets monthly online and is led by Blair Parrott from Surrey County Council, alongside a male member of the Action for Carers Surrey team.

Come along, listen in, join the conversation - whatever feels right for you.

If something unexpected happened, who would step in to help with your caring role?

Join us in Epsom on Wednesday 19 August, 10.30am–12pm, for a practical session on contingency planning for carers.

The session will cover:

• What contingency planning means for carers
• Practical ways to prepare for emergencies
• Support networks and backup plans
• Information about available support and services
• Time to ask questions and chat informally with ACS staff and CPAs
