Meet Sam. Children’s Care Assistant at ellenor.

“I’ve seen hospice care from both sides.”

For 12 years, Sam has supported children and their families, bringing care, laughter and precious moments of normality into their homes.

Last year, she experienced ellenor from the other side, when her beloved dad came into the hospice.

For the first time, Sam understood what it feels like to hand the care of someone you love to people you trust.

“When Dad came to ellenor, I finally stopped worrying about whether he’d be safe. I knew he was being cared for, and I could just be his daughter.”

That feeling of reassurance is at the heart of hospice care.

There are difficult days, but there is also laughter, games, family moments, ice cream, music and memories that last forever.

“The best part of my job is seeing families enjoy time together. Those moments might seem small, but they can mean everything.”
