PMBDT Was started in 1986 and our aim from the very beginning was to be a little different from your average club. There would be no regattas, no trophies, just displays for the public to enjoy. Thirty six years on and we are still putting on shows, and despite the hard work that goes on before and after each event, the support we receive from the public keeps us going. Our Affiliation in 2017 wit

h the National Museum of the Royal Navy has given us a wonderful permanent club house at Explosion Museum Gosport where we have open days displaying our models for the public and in support of the museum.

The upgrades continue. Dolphin today got her brushless speed control. This follows fitting the brushless motor to the boat last week. Hopefully we will see an increase in efficiency and a reduction in noise!
Like a lot of our models, Dolphin is getting old. Plastic fatigue is showing in the current radio board, plus we have replaced the rusty old motor last year and the propshaft this month. We may need to build some new vessels…

Some hot rebuild and repair work today. New M5 stainless propshaft and brushless motor mount dry fitted into Dolphin. Plus some colour slapped on the new corvette (plus a bit of practice camo applied!).
Big hole found where the rudder passes through the hull, that will need fixing!

Some rather good video from our display at the Gosport Marine Festival last week, enjoy.

Amazing what turns up when you are looking for Martian War Machine legs! A pair of Stuart Turner 4-8v motors. Interesting comparison with the new 350KV brushless outrunner motor that is soon to go into the sailing ship Dolphin.

The 1/48 corvette rebuild is back on. Alongside the 1/48 Hunt class which is already under construction. 3D printed turrets test fitted to HMS (insert name here), and Dolphin has had her 29 year old propshaft knocked out with a lumpy hammer! All our dirty stuff from yesterday is also nice and clean now..
