St. Peter's Life Line

St. Peter's Life Line We bring hope to many through education living in Kenya. Our vision is to Embrace, Educate

St Peter’s Life-Line supports the St Peter’s Community of Schools in Kajuki, Eastern Province, Kenya, by providing funds for capital projects, specific facilities or equipment. We also aim to provide regular, budgeted funding for teachers’ and staff salaries, feeding programme for the children, and for other specified and agreed running expenses directly associated with the operation of the school

s. Given any success in establishing stable centres of excellence in these schools, we would seek to expand our charitable activity to other similar projects in Kenya.

THEY'VE MADE IT!! The Aitken family have successfully completed their challenging walk of the Cumbrian Way!🙏 73 miles over sometimes rough terrain, in searing heat, carrying all their kit. A magnificent family and team achievement!💪 Our deepest gratitude to them for giving their half term to raise funds for us in this way/Way... when they could just as easily have sat on the beach!😂 Also a mahoosive thanks to you generous supporters for your donations - currently at £2,292 - 76% to our target of £3,000. If not already... maybe a quiet word with your flexible friend?🤔

Update from Emma on the epic Cumbrian Way walk - Day 6 (pic1): This was a hard day, not helped by a stinking cold I have! First leg was flat and along Coniston Water - so peaceful (pic2)! The second leg was pretty brutal - across rough, hilly moors - so desolate, we could have been on the moon - but beautiful (vid)! We're well ready for our last lap tomorrow! 😆

The epic Aitken family walk along the Cumbrian Way - Day 5 (pic1). Another hot day, and we set off (pic2), planning to have our breakfast in a wayside cafe - which was shut... but we then came across a lovely self service cafe, which was literally a Godsend!🙏 The route was varied, with lovely wide scenery (vid), tranquil riversides - and time for a swing (pic3), and well as some shade (pic4). We are now at our destination at the Coniston Inn - very tired, but in good spirits. Thank you also so much for your lovely donations which are keeping us going - we are nearly at 2/3rds of our target of £3,000 to feed those kids... please keep them coming in:

The Aitken family walk along the Cumbrian Way - Day 4 (pic1). Another very hot day and reasonable going mostly along a peaceful river... until they saw Stake Pass up ahead (pic2). Although short in distance it was a very, very steep ascent... looking up, Emma shed a few tears, wondering if... but after a family hug, they cracked on up. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going", and of course, success (pic3)! After that it was relatively easy going, "That way!" (pic4), to the day's destination.

The Aitken family walk along the Cumbrian Way - Day 3 (pic 1). The day started with a minor crisis - William had developed an infected big toe - his insistence on pressing on was overruled by Emma - and they sought treatment at Minor injuries and antibiotics. In the meantime, the two girls, Annabel and Elspeth cracked on down the route (pic 2). Emma & William taxi'd down to a prearranged RV and met up with the two girls (pic 3), all completing the last 3 miles together on foot. Oh and yes, it was hot! They are now in their B&B for a well deserved rest.

A heroic effort by the Aitken family on the 2nd Day of their epic walk of the Cumbrian Way - 15 miles (1st pic). Temperatures over 30C🌞, a high, gruelling climb to High Pike (lovely views!😳) (2nd pic), and then a long slog to Keswick - no shade en route (3rd pic). The sole of one of Elspeth's boots came apart - a temporary fix and her determination got her to Keswick (pic 4💪). And now showers, food, bed 😴(pic 5). You can help them on their way with an encouraging donation - now over half way to their target total of £3,000! - let's DOO it! https://www.justgiving.com/page/aitkenwalk

These two young lads, Amos and Peace, members of our All Stars Football Academy, have been awarded a full scholarship for secondary school by a local institution for their football prowess - some of the fruits of our Football Project for boys and girls. Seen here with Robert, a Tribal Chief and one of our Community Board members, who runs the Project. Maybe the forerunners of our aim to get at least four players (boys and girls) into the Kenya National Team within 10 years?🤞
Hope through Education... and Sport! ⚽️
