Brainwave has been delivering essential therapies to children with disabilities for over 40 years. Brainwave’s multidisciplinary team consists of qualified Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Learning Development Support Workers. Our Therapy Programmes are based on the principle of neuroplas

ticity – helping the brain find new pathways in the neural network by providing regular repetition of newly acquired skills. Children who couldn’t move, now walk, who couldn’t make a sound, now giggle and whose low attainment at school, is now greatly improved. We support children with various conditions including cerebral palsy, autism, development delay, and Down syndrome. We also support children with no official diagnosis and can assist families in accessing our Therapy Programme through a means-tested Priority Fund. Brainwave is an independent UK charity that complements the NHS. However, we do not receive any statutory funding and rely on voluntary donations to run our service.

A huge thank you to the Community Payback Crews! 👏😊

This weekend, the teams have once again been hard at work at our National Therapy Assessment Centre, helping us to keep our site looking its very best. 🤩

Over the weekend they've:
🎈Carried out gardening across the site
🎈Repainted the fence around our sensory garden
️🎈Refreshed our car park lines
🎈Assisted with a range of maintenance tasks
🎈Helped with cleaning and a general site tidy-up

We are incredibly grateful to every member of the Community Payback teams for the time, effort and pride they put into everything they do. 🙏😊

We are so pleased to have built this partnership with the Probation Service. Over the last 15 months, the crews have made such a positive difference to our site, allowing us to focus more of our resources on supporting children and families. 😃

It has been a genuine pleasure working with the Probation Service, and getting to know the crews themselves has been equally rewarding. Thank you for everything you do – your hard work really does make a lasting difference. 🤩

Your child’s Brainwave Assessment could now cost just £100. 🤩

We’re delighted to announce that, thanks to a reallocation of charitable funding, families with a gross household income below £70,000 now only pay the £100 assessment deposit. No additional assessment contribution is required.*

That’s a reduction of £450 on an Initial Assessment and £350 on a Reassessment. 👏😃

At Brainwave, we never want finances to prevent a child from accessing the specialist support they need. This change means even more families can begin their Brainwave journey and receive a bespoke therapy programme designed around their child’s individual needs.

Congratulations and thank you to Ben, who successfully completed the Castle to Castle 100-mile Race from Edinburgh to Glamis on Sunday! 🎉👏🥇

Crossing the finish line in an amazing 21 hours and 53 minutes, Ben showed incredible determination, resilience and commitment – all to help raise funds for Brainwave. 🎈

The money he has raised so far will help us support even more children with disabilities and additional needs, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential through our specialist therapy programmes. 🤩
