Wednesdays are a very special day. The men were able to get outdoors and harvest the last few carrots before a very active game of football. Then a tour around the farm and time to feed the chicken and check on the pigs and goats. In the barn it was full on with sowing seeds and planting bulbs for the spring. An hilarious game of charades showed some very talented actors!!

Even our favourite pig, Ned was hiding from the rain this week. Despite the weather we managed to begin to varnish our new bench and start new painting projects.
Thank you Madding Crowd ukulele band for entertaining us with well known songs. There was much merriment, singing along and even a few moves! The rendition of 'Rhythm of the Rain'was timely but 'Bring me Sunshine' brought a brightness to the barn. Another fab day. 🙂

It is so important to keep mobile and active so this week we spent time in our garden collecting pumpkins, clearing an area by the shed and playing a very competitive game of boules. Conversation and hilarity flowed. Then it was time in the barn planting Spring bulbs along with our hearty rendition of '500 miles'!
Another great day. Happy men. 🙂

We have had a very busy couple of weeks here at Madjeston Animal Park. Last week we celebrated our first anniversary with all our friends and supporters. Cannot believe it has been a whole year. How far we have come!
We also went to the Volunteer Centre Awards ceremony on behalf of our wonderful team.
This week despite the weather we have been kept engaged in the barn, painting our name boards, playing games and celebrating harvest festival.
We need to say a big thank you to Gillsheds for making us beautiful handcrafted chairs which we will varnish and put on our allotment. Phew! So busy and so much fun!xx

Wow! What a day! We were extremely busy in the barn sanding and painting ting new name boards. Then it was a hive of activity to make our first batch of apple juice! All went home with their own special bottle.
No group next week as we will be celebrating our first year anniversary with a party. 🙂

Oh wow! What a busy day at the farm this week. Lots of concentration on the sanding and painting as we prepared more name boards. Then it was all hands on deck in making apple juice.
Agreed it was delicious and everyone went home with their own bottle.
No group next week as we will be celebrating our first anniversary with a party. 🙂

It was all hands on deck in the garden this week as new gravel arrived for the paths. The men got stuck in levelling, raking and compacting, creating smart new paths that should keep the garden looking good for years to come.
The shed also got yet another coat of paint, we’re determined to get that one looking perfect! 🎨
And, of course, no visit to the farm would be complete without checking on Dotty’s latest arrivals. The piglets are growing fast and already seem to have discovered one of their favourite snacks… shoes! 🐷👞
Then it was back to the barn for a well-earned cuppa, plenty of chat and our customary Barn Quiz… Perfect 😊

🌞 A busy and productive morning at Madjeston Farm! 🌿
We were blessed with some lovely sunshine - perfect weather for getting stuck into a few jobs around the farm.
With a bigger group, we split into teams. One team put the finishing touches to our giant Jenga project, while the other set about giving the garden shed a fresh lick of paint.
And, of course, no visit to the farm would be complete without checking in on the animals, so there was also time to visit the newborn calves and see how they’re doing. 🐄
Once the work was done, it was time for the important bit… testing the giant Jenga! 😄 Let’s just say there was plenty of concentration, a little tension and some very carefully chosen moves!
We rounded off another great morning with our customary barn quiz, accompanied by plenty of tea, chat and laughter.
Another busy morning, jobs well done and a pretty impressive tower to show for it!

🍂 What a difference a week makes! 🍂
After last week’s sunshine, we were greeted with a much cooler, damp and decidedly Autumnal day at the farm. But a little bit of weather never stops our men having fun!
We started by feeding the goats and sheep and checking that all our other furry and feathered friends were happy and well.
Then it was time to get stuck into one of our long-awaited projects - making a giant Jenga tower!
The barn was a hive of activity, with plenty of sawing, sanding, teamwork and of course, some lively discussions about exactly how the job should be done! 😂
We managed to complete half of our giant Jenga today, so there’s still plenty more sawing and sanding to come. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished tower and, more importantly, finding out who has the steadiest hands!
Another busy, productive and thoroughly enjoyable morning at Madjeston Farm.
