It’s Carers Week and we were delighted to host a full day at the farm so our lovely carers could enjoy some well earned time for themselves while we spent a wonderful day with the men.
Despite having to dodge a few heavy rain showers, we got on with our usual farm activities, checking on the animals and tending to the garden before preparing a fantastic lunch for 16 hungry mouths. On the menu was a delicious casserole with homemade flatbreads to mop up every last drop of gravy, followed by a fresh fruit salad and a generous dollop of the wonderful Madjeston Milk Station ice cream. 🍨
After we’d washed up and put everything away, we headed to the barn for a brew and a quiz, which sparked plenty of laughs and a bit of friendly competition.
A lovely day spent with lovely people. Just what MATF is all about. 😊

A wet morning at Madjeston Farm, but in true Brit fashion, we checked the animals, garden and played cricket in the rain 🏏 ☔️ - no stopping for bad light at MATF! After a few heroic innings, we retired to the barn for tea, cake and a tactical game or two of dominoes. We were joined by Helen and Chloe from Volunteer Centre Dorset, who came to congratulate our wonderful volunteers (Kevin, Ted, Mark, Nick, Simon, Liz and Marc) for all their hard work, good humour and dedication to a lovely group of people. We love Wednesdays…❤️😊

🌱 Can You Help Men at the Farm? 🌱
We're looking for a few items to help our Men at the Farm group continue growing, learning, and spending time together outdoors.
We're currently seeking:
🏡 A 12ft x 8ft garden shed (or similar)
🌿 A greenhouse or small polytunnel
🛠️ Garden tools and equipment
🌻 Gardening supplies that are no longer needed
These items would give our men a dedicated space to store equipment, grow plants, develop new skills, and enjoy the many wellbeing benefits that gardening brings.
If you have any of these items sitting unused, or know someone who may be able to help, we'd love to hear from you. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to our group.
Please send us a message or contact us directly if you can help.
Thank you for supporting Men at the Farm and helping us continue to grow. 🌾💚

Please share this post to help us reach as many people as possible. Thank you 😊

A beautiful sunny morning at the farm - a little on the warm side, but we all kept cool, finding shade and a breeze in the lovely facilities that Madjeston Farm offers 😊. We welcomed some new members to our group, checked the animals were all OK and watered. We were lucky enough to find some newly hatched chicks whilst collecting eggs from the chicken run. Finished off the morning with a fab game of Boules, cold drinks and some delicious Madjeston Milk Station ice cream🍦😋. Perfect…

A fab day at the farm yesterday. We had a lovely talk from Tim about his amazing collection of stamps and enjoyed looking at all the wonderful designs through the ages. The rest of the morning was spent tending the garden, finishing the name boards and dominoes. We love Wednesdays…❤️😊

We spent a cold blustery May morning at the farm, finishing off projects in the relative warmth of our barn. Time was well spent looking after puppy Lula (she’s a beauty), painting name boards, potting out lettuce seedlings, and completing the scarecrow for our garden. As always, all our hard work is rewarded with a cuppa (or two), cake and a very close barn quiz - perfect… 😊🎨🥬☕️🍰

A lovely creative day at the farm today. Firstly, a thank you card to the fab people at Sydenhams, Gillingham for generously gifting the timber for our garden beds. As it’s been so dry, a few of us watered the seeds planted last week - the spuds are up! Today’s main event was a pottery session hosted by the amazing Jo, we all loved it and some works of art were created! Thank you Jo and we can’t wait to see the results once fired… Finished the day with a barn quiz, delicious cake and a cuppa. ❤️😊

We had a fun, productive morning at the farm. Another bed was completed ready for planting beans, sweetcorn and main crop potatoes. Back at the barn the boards were finished off ready for sign writing and we started making a scarecrow ready to keep those pesky pigeons away from our produce! Another lovely morning spent with a bunch of lovely people - perfect...😊🌽🥕

A very busy day at Madjeston Farm. The sun was shining and the team were keen to get started on preparing our fab new garden beds ready for planting. Two large dumpy bags of fantastic compost - kindly supplied by Apsley Farms, were emptied and levelled on the beds. Finally we managed to plant potatoes and sow carrots leaving the beds ready for more activity next week! Thanks to Dave, Abi and the wonderful team at Madjeston Milk Station for all their hard work and support ❤️
