Spring sprung really early this year and our garden's looking lovely! Not quite so nice now of course, but wasn't March beautiful? This is a crab apple tree out by our polytunnel, such a perfect shape I thought - isn't nature wonderful?
In case anyone was wondering, we are not doing our big Easter Retreat event this year, we decided to do a low-key, community and friends only thing this time, mainly because, as I said previously, we are still a bit short-staffed! So the next big event will be the Summer Solstice celebration (20-22 June) so put it in your diaries!
We do still have vacancies so please check out our website if you are interested.

Well here we are in 2025 and it's all change again at Threshold! We still have 2 houses for sale but now also 2 rooms in the farmhouse. Sadly this is too many vacancies to have at once, partly for ourselves as it means we are a bit short-handed, but also because we are aware it might put people off seeing so many vacancies! Of course they all came about for various different reasons, but we realise people may wonder what's going on.....
But despite this the community is carrying on as usual, and we have some events lined up for the first part of this year, as can be seen on our website. First up is a Spring Equinox celebration weekend, on 21-23 March, which will include some gardening, some fun activities, and a celebration of the Equinox as well as Earth Hour (8.30 p.m. on Saturday). We are also planning a Mayday event and Summer Solstice weekend in June - again, this will be on our website.
Meanwhile the veg garden is looking very neat and tidy, with woodchip on all the paths, the fruit trees have been pruned (mostly), and seeds have been sown in the polytunnels and on windowsills in the farmhouse - oh and early spuds are in. Always plenty more to do of course, and what will the weather bring this year I wonder....?

Stop Press!! Farmhouse room vacancy!
A few changes going on here at the moment. Two people selling their privately owned properties, one person recently moved out of the farmhouse into a Housing Association rental property, and a new person has joined us in the farmhouse. But also, and more importantly, another person who currently rents a room in the farmhouse is planning to move into our other vacant HA rental property, which means that we will have an upcoming vacancy in the farmhouse.

We've just celebrated our 20th Anniversary! With special thanks to our 3 of our founders - Jane (now living in Bristol), Gay, and Michael - we had a fun afternoon with a few friends and neighbours and lots of cake! We had an exhibition in the farmhouse illustrating the history of Cole Street Farm and the arrival of the Threshold Centre, there was music in the garden and apple pressing in the polytunnel. In the evening we celebrated the Autumn Equinox with our traditional fire ceremony, and a few of us had a drink and sat outside long into the night as it was (it seems) the last warm and beautiful evening of the summer.
