3 Members of Gillingham Girlguilding attended the Dorset Gold Event, 1 who achieved her Gold Award in Rainbows and is now a Brownie, and 2 in Brownies and are starting Guides this week. Well done Girls 🎉💛

Today Lisa and some of her team are at the Dorset Heavy Horse centre to celebrate the Girlguiding GOLD award holders of 2025. This is a great achievement showing dedication and determination. Congratulations 🙌

Yesterday some Brownies, a Guide, Young Leaders and Leaders headed to Portsmouth to take part in Cityscapes, a very enjoyable day had by all.

Happy World Thinking Day! 💙

World Thinking Day is a celebration of 10 million girls worldwide that has taken place on every 22 February since 1926 - making it 100 years old today! It remains a day for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to think of each other and celebrate their communities all around the world.

On a rather wet Sunday, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers from Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Mere and Sturminster Newton joined together at North Dorset RFC, to learn all about Rugby by North Dorset RFC Coaches, and supported by North Dorset RFC first aiders, an enjoyable session, thank you for having us 🏉☂️

On Monday 2nd Gillingham Brownies had a visit from one of the Brownies Parents who showed us her collection of Uranium Glass and how it glows under Black Light, then had a go at making thier own with Black Light Paint. ⚱️🖌

Tonight we made our own Golf Clubs out of newspaper and sticks, and then created a crazy golf course, enjoyed by all. ⛳️🏌‍♂️

The lovely Autumn is running a charity clothes sale out of Coffee and Canines supporting both Girlguiding Gillingham District and the Gillingham Foodbank.

Gillingham Rainbows had great fun creating cave paintings.

We also sorted rubbish and recycling with an assault course. They were fab at sorting items into recycling, charity shop, plastic to recycle at the supermarket, ‘to be mended’ and finally ‘the bin’!

Over the last few weeks, Gillingham Guides have enjoyed making stretchers from different items (and they worked!), cooking over a fire (a firm favourite) , making butter (very yummy) and finding out about contour lines (with potatoes!).

Last night 2nd Gillingham Brownies returned to there Monday Meetings it was lovely to welcome back 16 Brownies, and we look forward to lots of activities and adventures this term including Gillingham Carnival. 🦉
