🎉 Gildersome Scarecrow Festival – Bus Diversions 🎉

🗓 Saturday 20 June
⏰ 08:00 – 19:00

Due to the Gildersome Scarecrow Festival and the closure of a part of Town Street, some bus services will be diverted throughout the day.

Confirmed diversion:

🚌 Arriva 425
• Via A62 Gelderd Road (both directions)

Please allow extra time for your journey and plan ahead where possible.

🏷️🌟 GILDERSOME TABLE TOP SALE TRAIL: SATURDAY 11TH JULY, 10AM - 4PM! 🌟🏷️

Gildersome, it’s time to come together for a brilliant community day filled with bargains, recycling, fundraising, and local pride. Whether you’re clearing out your cupboards, supporting a cause, this event is for you.

🛍️ For Residents in and around Gildersome: (if outside of Gildersome we do have community areas to set up pleased register to apply for a table top)

Got unwanted items taking up space? Turn them into cash while giving them a new home. It’s the perfect chance to recycle, resell, and be part of a fun village wide trail that brings neighbours together.

💚 Charities & Non‑Profit Organisations:

We’d love to have you join us. Set up a stall, raise funds, spread awareness, and connect with the community. You’re warmly welcomed and encouraged to take part.

🏪 Local Businesses:

You are invited to get involved, However, we are still seeking the traders permit at this event , so please fill in your details if you’re interested and we’ll be in touch to discuss further.

📍 It’s happening all across Gildersome…. follow the trail, meet new people, and enjoy a day full of community spirit. The map will be created ONLINE once we have your registrations in.

You are welcome to use your own gazebos for those where possible, or join with others for cover, and we do have limited space inside the meeting hall. But hopefully the weather will be kind ☀️

ITS FREE for everyone selling 2nd hand items or fundraising. Businesses , if permitted, will be asked to give a donation.

🌾 Scarecrow Festival – Just One Week to Go! 🌾

📅 Saturday 20th June
🕙 10:00am – 7:00pm

Our village Scarecrow Festival is now only a week away, and we’re looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors for a wonderful day of community fun.

📖 Be sure to pick up a Scarecrow Festival Brochure outside the Meeting Hall (£2 cash only). It includes the trail map, event timetable, voting slip for your favourite scarecrow, and a fun letters competition with the chance to win Showcase Cinema tickets.

🏆 Three prizes of four cinema tickets are up for grabs!

💷 Favourite Scarecrow Competition Prizes:

Find the hidden letters displayed on the scarecrows around the village. Collect them all and they'll reveal a well-known children's song. Submit your completed entry and all correct answers will be entered into a prize draw, with one lucky winner receiving £30.

Happy Easter everyone! 🐣🌼

A big thank you to everyone who came along to the Gildersome Parish Council Easter event yesterday – it was lovely to see so many of you there and we hope you all had a fantastic time!

For the decorated egg competition, the winner and runners-up will be contacted directly, as we’re currently reaching out to those who weren’t able to receive their prizes on the day.

A huge thanks again to everyone who took part and helped make it such a special event – without you, these events simply wouldn’t be possible.
