This week at today youth night we had a game of Twister which was really enjoyed — some of the young people had never played it before!

We also had the usual favourites including board games, table tennis, and our activities table with mindfulness colouring, crosswords, and word searches.

There was also plenty of fun with our picture quizzes: “Guess the Animal” 🐾 and “Guess the Biscuit” 🍪

We meet every Tuesday at from 6.00–7.30pm for over 11s.

We’re also looking at doing a sponsored walk in July, so watch out for more details coming soon! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Monday’s GCSE Revision Hub was full of energy and focus! 📚✨

Students put their knowledge to the test with a fun “Guess the Quote” challenge from the Power and Conflict poetry anthology, while others listened to Checking Out Me History by John Agard to deepen their understanding of the poem and its themes. 🎭🎶

Alongside English revision, students were also working hard on Maths and Science revision ahead of their exams.

A fantastic atmosphere of collaboration, determination, and learning all round! 💪🧠

For Mental Health Week, with this year’s theme being Action, we came together for a group activity at our youth night focusing on healthy social media and the impact words can have on mental health. 💚

We discussed how harmful phrases such as “it’s all in your head” or “you’re crazy” can deeply affect someone, even when said casually.

Together, we created a poster with the message: “Don’t let social media use you.” 📱

Every now and then, we take part in activities like these to better understand why Team Daniel was set up and to reflect on the actions we can take to support not only others, but ourselves too. 💙

Small actions, conversations, and understanding can make a big difference.

Carrying on the theme Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme is ACTION 💚

I want to give a huge thank you to Faizan and Phoebe from our GCSE Revision Hub.

I don’t always get time to sort out the cupboard, but they took the initiative to empty everything out, organise it all, and neatly put everything back.

Small acts of kindness and teamwork like this really do mean a lot. Actions don’t always have to be big to make a difference 🙌 Thank you both for your support and positivity!

Another positive piece around Mental Health Awareness Week

I got a card and a positive potato tote bag which fits in very nicely 😊 from our youth night

These thoughtful gestures were such a reminder that taking action for mental health doesn’t always have to be something huge. It can be supporting one another, cheering someone on, showing appreciation, checking in, or simply spreading positivity.

Another way we can take action is by making time for conversations, encouraging others, and reminding people they are valued and never alone 💚

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that taking action for yourself matters. 💚

Self-care doesn’t always have to be something big — it can be improving your sleep, making time to socialise, getting outside, or challenging yourself physically.

For me, running the Leeds Marathon was one of those moments. It pushed me mentally and physically, reminding me how important movement, resilience is.

Receiving this beautiful “Proud of you ” card from the students at one of the revision hubs was lovely

Their kindness and encouragement were a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on each other simply by showing support. (Even from Harry 😂)

This week, take action for yourself:
✨ Prioritise rest
✨ Move your body
✨ Reach out to others
✨ Celebrate your achievements — no matter how small

Sometimes the smallest actions can make the biggest difference. 💚

Yesterday I finished the Rob Burrow Marathon 🏃‍♂️💙

Without a doubt, it was one of the hardest runs I think I’ve ever done. That hill at mile 17… three miles of pure incline 😅 definitely the toughest part of the whole day.

But this run was always about more than the miles. I ran this for Daniel, for all the young people who attend our groups, for the people we have sadly lost loved ones to su***de, and for the ones who battle every single day just to get out of bed — but still do. You are stronger than you know ❤️

The support all the way around the course was absolutely amazing. The cheers, encouragement, donations and messages honestly kept me going, so thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and donated — I can’t thank you enough.

For any last-minute donations, I’ve put the link in the comments ❤️

After crossing the finish line, I had the longest soak in the bath with Epsom salts 😂 and today my legs feel like lead! But it was all worth it.

It was really nice to meet Gail Lofthouse at BBC radio Leeds.

Me and Chelsea (Daniel’s sister) shared Daniel’s story and what he was like at school.

I was also asked about my training for Sunday.

It’s important to share Daniel’s story especially around GCSE times as it’s just a reminder to check in on your child.
