16 July was our final meeting before the summer break, so we had our usual summer tea party and everyone seemed to enjoy it. As a special treat, we welcomed the ukulele band from Gildersome Primary School who entertained us some lovely music. Many thanks to them and their talented music teacher.
We'll be back on 3 September. We will post our Sept to Dec schedule in a few wks. Have a lovely, safe summer everyone.

Many thanks to Helen who gave us a very interest talk about the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the amazing work they do. I think we all learned some things we didn't know and certainly enjoyed hearing how the service developed and how much they help people. They do not receive any government or NHS funding and depend on voluntary contributions, so if you can support them in any way, please do. Good morning, hope everyone is taking things steady in this unusual heatwave. As we don't want people coming out in this heat and possibly endangering themselves we've decided to cancel tomorrow's club, that's 25/06/2026.
Sorry to disappoint you but health and safety are more important. Look forward to seeing you next week on the 2 July, I don't know where the weeks go, we'll be past the halfway mark.
Keep as cool as you can and drink plenty of water.
