Longham Lakes and Christchurch Harbour

Take a leisurely stroll around our two lakes and spot an abundance of wildlife which call Longham their home!

Enjoy the beautiful scenery on a walk around the lakes, which can be approximately 1.5 miles combined.

You can even bring along your four legged friends, but ensure they are kept on leads to protect the wildlife and to ensure that they do not enter the water. 🐕

Spotted a flash of bright orange whilst walking at Longham? It might have been a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly! 🦋

The very first of the fresh summer generation are emerging from their chrysalises right now. Look out for them basking on sunny paths or fueling up on garden flowers and brambles. 🌸

Sadly, these beautiful garden favourites have faced a steep decline in recent years, making every single sighting incredibly special.

Celebrate the outdoors with family and friends at the Longham Lakes Open Day on Saturday 30 May, 11am to 4pm!

Our Event Highlights 👇

🛶 Free watersports taster sessions. Try paddle boarding and kayaking in beginner-friendly sessions. Although please note that spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis (Minimum age for watersports: 8 years old).

✈️ Watch demonstrations of model yachts and model planes.

🦆 Enjoy a guided nature walk. Don't forget your binoculars!

🎨 Face painting, pebble painting, wooden crafts, and other creative activities provided by Mindful Moments (small fees apply for these craft activities).
