We want to make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health. Suffolk Mind is an independent charity whose mission is to make the county the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health. To meet that mission, we provide a range of wellbeing services, courses and resources for individuals, schools, workplaces and community grou

ps. This includes counselling services, mental health support groups, and wellbeing training for organisations. To influence what we do, we use the Emotional Needs and Resources approach: that we all have physical and emotional needs, along with a set of skills and resources we’re born with to meet those needs. The 12 needs comprise three physical needs for Sleep, Movement and Food & Drink, and the remaining nine emotional needs. These are: Attention, Control, Emotional Connection, Respect, Achievement, Security, Community, Meaning & Purpose and Privacy. Contact us or visit our website to find out how Suffolk Mind can help you talk about and take care of your mental health.

Wishing everyone who is heading back to school today "good luck" and "go get 'em". For those starting a new school today - try and think that this is as your opportunity to make new friends. For those heading into their final years - this is your opprtunity to shine as people. And, for those of you waving them off - what an achievement to raise young people to go out into the world. Happy first day of school!

From London’s Copper Box arena to Suffolk’s Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre.

Following the World Table Tennis championships earlier this year, Wendy Sheppard was invited along to see the action, at Table Tennis England's stakeholder event. It was there that she found out that these very special tables were going to be donated after the championships and from one conversation to another, one of these highly valuable tables was going to go on adding a greater value to the community right here in Suffolk.

As you can see it’s now nestled perfectly between the bandstand and the patonk court, just alongside the Community Centre, for all to use.

Stuart Lawson, General Manager says that he is thrilled to see it already being put to good use and has seen almost daily visits by two local ladies who love to play early each morning, and a father and son duo who have been making the most of it during the school holidays.

Table Tennis England’s overall wishes were for the table to be used to strengthen and bring communities together, and we would say that they have done that already.

From Suffolk Mind's perspective and using our approach to mental health, having this table in situ is also helping the community to meet other emotional needs such as Movement, Achievement, Meaning and Purpose, and Community.

A hug thanks to Johnathan Driscoll from and Andy Wilesmith

Are you part of a small team? We understand this may mean booking a course feels too costly per person, we’ve got you.

If you don't have enough people for a full course, we'll match you with another charity.

You both receive the high-quality training. You both share the cost. Maybe one of you can host the session in a boardroom?

It's one of the simplest ways we're helping make mental health training more accessible.

To find out more, please email [email protected] or visit https://zurl.co/Jno80 to explore our wide range of mental health workshops and courses
