The organisers say there is not enough income to hold their event, which fills the prom with art.

It is with a heavy heart that myself and Nichola have come to the difficult decision to cancel this years Art on the Prom. This is due to a number of factors which mean there is not enough income from pitch sales, grant funding or sponsorship to enable the project to cover it's core costs. As I hope you understand we cannot run the project in this instance.

To make this years project happen, we applied for 3 grants, none of which were successful and despite existing and additional support from East Suffolk Council, as well as our regular grant from Felixstowe Town Council, we could not raise the sufficient funds to go ahead.

Thankfully we do have leads for potential sponsors for next year, plus ideas about fundraising for what would be the 20th active year of the event, if it can go ahead.

We understand how disappointing this news will be to everyone who attends this unique and much loved event, and we very much hope we will be back in full swing next year. We will be issuing refunds in the next few day to traders that have booked.

We will continue to attempt to resurrect the event next year, anyone wishing to support these efforts by way of brining potential sponsors, or applying for grants etc, please do let us know.

We will sorely miss seeing you all, I know many of you will also miss the keen art buyers, the community and the sea breeze but please understand we have had no choice but to cancel the event.

Please write to us with any testimonials, supportive words for the event, or any ideas you have for the future. We will try to build a solid future for Art on the Prom, so any help will be appreciated.
