Our 2026 season of meetings started with a presentation by Derek Sands on 12th March. The subject matter was, Derek and his wife's last two cruises in September and December 2025. Two members who have not been able to get to meetings for some time were in attendance. Welcome back Tina and Graham.

For our June meeting Derek Sands, gave a powerpoint presentation on the SD14 ships built at Austin and Pickersgill, and under license at other yards.
The one SD15 and three SD18's were included at the end.

There is no meeting in July and August meeting will be our usual social gathering at "The Shipwreck" Shotley Marina on Sunday 17th August at noon.

For our May meeting at the Felixstowe Museum Derek Sands showed images from 2005
Ports covered were Gt Yarmouth, Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Tilbury and Rotterdam. There was not time to show the second part of images from the Haven ports in the same year.

We had our best attendance of the year despite four regulars being unavailable.

Our what is now annual summer event happened on Sunday 11th August. Members and guests met at "The Shipwreck" from Noon onwards, at a social gathering. Liaison officer for local transport societies Martyn Hunt attended and we welcomed Peter and Christine Ives from East Kent branch, whose yacht was stabled in the nearby Marina. They brought along their Tortoise too as he shares the yacht with them ! More members would have been elcome but thanks to all those that made it.
