ENID DENTAL UPDATE:
On Monday evening Enid, aged 15, came home after having a major dental.

We knew from a visible exam that one tooth was rotten, but once she was under general anaesthesia and had x-rays taken, the vet discovered resorptive lesions across much of her mouth.

This is a painful condition where, for some reason, the body breaks down the tooth, exposing the sensitive pulp underneath. Sadly, it is common in older cats.😿

As a result, Enid had 14 teeth extracted in total!πŸ™€

She is currently on strong pain relief three-times-a-day and eating a little tuna and a pate-type food. She's such a good girl!πŸ₯°

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to her Go Fund Me already. The amount raised currently stands at Β£285.πŸ‘ The final bill is expected to be around Β£800, payable on 1st July, so if anyone could help us pay the remaining balance, we would be most grateful.πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

WEDS 10TH JUNE - VET HOME VISIT.
This morning we had a visit from Mary and Leanne at Severn Veterinary Centre.

We prefer to have routine veterinary care for our residents on-site β€” in many instances, it is much less stressful for them and saves us multiple vet trips too!πŸ₯°

Several of our residents were examined and discussed.

Amongst these were new boy Gerald (aged 11, pictured below) and Molly (aged 19). Molly arrived yesterday and is yet to be formally introduced to you all.

Tuppence (aged 18) had his six-monthly blood pressure check (all ok) and Lulu (aged 14) was microchipped.

And Enid (aged 15), who had a dental on Monday, had a post-op check. (Sorry we haven't updated you all on her progress and fundraiser yet. Everything has come at once this week!)

LINK'S LEGACY
Later this morning, we will be welcoming a new resident to Twilights: 19-year-old Mollie.

She's never had a bed before!

Thanks to the kindness of Ashleigh, she will shortly have her very own little sanctuary.πŸ₯°

Our love, thoughts and grateful thanks also go to Ashleigh at Hector's House today.πŸ’• We know only too well how quickly you can form bonds with these oldies and the inevitable heartbreak when you have to say goodbye.

ENID - DENTAL TODAY
An early start this morning as we dropped Enid off at our vets in Alcester for an urgent dental.

The poor girl wasn't able to eat any solids at all over the weekend.πŸ˜”

We had hoped to delay this procedure until we had the funds but obviously, we couldn't wait any longer.

If anybody could help us with a donation towards her bill, we would be so, so grateful. We have launched a GoFundMe especially for her: https://gofund.me/d2842981c

Or you can donate via Paypal (link in bio) - please quote 'Enid' and use the 'family and friends' option to avoid fees.

Or bank transfer (please message us for details).

THANK YOU!

A BIG DAY FOR GERALD (EST AGE 10 - 12)!
Today, new boy Gerald and his favourite ferret toyπŸ˜€ were moved from our emergency foster space to the outside lodge. (Thanks to Mr T who spent several hours deep cleaning the accommodation beforehand.)

We think Gerald - or Geraldo as we are currently calling him😁 - will be much happier on his own and with outside access.

It's been almost a month since Gerald / Geraldo arrived here and all-in-all we are pleased with his progress. He is a lot brighter and since starting on thyroid medication, has put on 300g in weight. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

He's a super little man!πŸ’“

SAFE IN RESCUE - THANK YOU SARAH!
I know many of you were following our recent transport appeal - so we are pleased to report that this afternoon, this senior beauty finally arrived at her rescue placement with Avon Cat Rescue.

Thank you so much to Sarah for volunteering and giving up her Saturday to drive a three- hour round trip to help. What a star! 🀩

And our grateful thanks go to Rosemary and everyone at the the rescue as well.πŸ‘πŸ‘

ALAN (AGED 20) SAYS THANK YOU!
Our poster boy, Alan, would like to thank the kind, anonymous person who purchased this jumbo pack of Felix 7+ from our Amazon wishlist this week.😻

He much prefers this to the diabetic or renal food we have recently been trying to fob off on him!πŸ˜†

We have 20+ seniors in residence so all such gifts are very welcome and help enormously with the food bill.

Thank you kindly!

HAPPY from CHLOE (AGE 14).
Chloe, a former stray from Tuffley, has been at Twilights since March 2024.

She came in via a vet practice in Gloucestershire and was named after the vet nurse who brought her to us.😽

She was a sad little scrap when she arrived but soon blossomed here. She's a little delight and spends much of her time either in the garden or keeping Mr T. company in his home office.πŸ₯°

❗️AN APPEAL FOR TRANSPORT❗️
WALSALL TO WELFORD-ON-AVON

Please is there anybody available (and known to Twilights) who would be prepared to transport a senior cat to the safety of a rescue space this week / weekend?

We would be happy to cover petrol costs.

A local rescue kindly agreed to help us out by taking this little one who was at risk of pts. We just want to see her safe now.

Please message the page if you can help.πŸ™

THANK YOU!
