Our top advice for third-sector organisations using Gemini or other AI tools simple: talk to it.

Instead of typing, record your voice. Explain your goals, define your audience, and tell it not to exaggerate your language. This keeps your message meaningful and authentic. Not to mention that is saves time.

From there, let Gemini do the heavy lifting of breaking that core message down into bite-sized content for LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook.

Ethical AI means using the tool as a formatting assistant, not the author.

Planning ahead isn't just a massive timesaver; it’s how we make sure our voice, and our mission, stay strong. 💛

By using a content calendar, we can focus on the key dates that matter most to our cause, tell more of our community's stories, and make sure we're sharing a lovely mix of content. Pair that with scheduling, and it’s an absolute sanity saver for busy teams or volunteers!

We’ve put together a completely free guide to help you build your own, and we’d love for you to have it.

👇 How to access it:
1️⃣ Visit https://www.digitalkindness.org.uk/freeresources
2️⃣ Download the guide.
3️⃣ Inside, you’ll find a link to our ready-to-use template!

(Little reminder: please make sure to duplicate/make a copy of the template before you start typing, so your wonderful ideas stay private! 🤫)

Welcome to the Team, Theodora! 🎉

We are absolutely delighted to announce that has joined our Digital Kindness team as a consultant! She will be instrumental in helping us develop our upcoming website resources. Stay tuned, because a proper, formal introduction is on the way soon!

In the meantime, Theodora has already been hard at work and created this beautiful, quick tutorial on The Edits, an amazing platform for creating engaging Reels.

Why you should try “The Edits” app:

Completely Free: Available right now in both the App Store and Google Play Store (look for The Edits by Instagram).
Algorithm Boost: Sharing your content directly from The Edits app means Instagram is more likely to prioritise your reach.
Tip: If your video doesn’t feature you speaking, add a trending audio track directly in the app to help your content reach an even wider audience!

We will be following up with more advanced tips and tricks for The Edits soon, but for now, we hope this tutorial inspires you to download it and have a play!

👇 Have you tried The Edits yet? Let us know in the comments!

Collaboration over competition, always. That is the KINDset ethos. 🤝

We believe that a true digital community is built on lifting each other up. There are so many brilliant, worthy organisations and causes working tirelessly to make a difference, and they deserve to be seen.

Imagine the impact if we all used our platforms to champion someone else’s incredible work.

We’re encouraging everyone to adopt a KINDset when posting on social media. Why not use your next post to highlight a cause that inspires you or someone your organisation collaborates with? After all, digital kindness is best when it's shared.

We recently found out that a Parliamentary Motion was actually tabled by Christine Jardine MP to congratulate us on receiving funding from the .

We are also incredibly proud to see that every single MP asked to support the motion said yes, showing true cross-party backing for digital inclusion!

Because of this support, we are actively helping small or volunteer-led organisations boost their digital confidence, build essential skills, and get the visibility they deserve. Seeing our mission in parliamentary history makes us incredibly proud.

A huge, lasting thank you to National Lottery players and .jardine.westedin for championing digital inclusion! 💛

We are thrilled to share a quick update on the growth of our Digital Action Program! It’s been incredible connecting with everyone so far:

🌐 15 fantastic organisations have officially joined our network!
📞 We’ve already kicked off our initial 1-on-1 strategy calls with participants to work on their social media strategy, communication and much more.
🛠️ Our team is in the final stages of developing the core workshops.

This Sunday: We are excited to deliver a social media workshop, booked a few months ago, specifically for the teachers from .co.uk

⏳ A couple of spaces are still available! If your organisation wants to join there's still time. As a quick reminder, this is a 6-month program designed to build your network through dedicated 1-on-1 support and 3 collaborative workshops (a mix of in-person and online sessions).

What do marshmallows and campfires have to do with social media?

If you run a charity or a community-based organisation, building your online presence is exactly like building the perfect campfire. Here is why:

🔥 The Campfire = Your Community. This is the warm, inviting space you build where your followers and supporters want to gather around.

🍢 The Marshmallows = Your Content. This is the sweet, attractive stuff people actually want to consume! It’s the stories, updates, and wins that draw people in.

🪵 The Logs = Your Sponsors. They are the fuel. The sponsors and donors supporting your cause are what keep the fire burning strong.

🌿 The Stick = Your Technology. This is what supports the marshmallow. Tools like Facebook, Canva, and your website hold your content up and make it possible to share it with the world.

As long as you are focused on building a warm campfire for your followers and using the right tools to support your message, you are creating a beautiful, welcoming space online.

If you need support starting to build your fire we are here with the matches. ✨
