📣Racist Reform Not Welcome on UoE Campus!📣

On the 21st of November, the newly formed Edinburgh Reform UK Society will be hosting racist Reform UK campaigner and former Farage adviser Jack Anderton. It’s clear that Jack and the Reform Society spew the same racist rhetoric on refugees, migrants and Muslim communities as the likes of Nigel Farage.

At a time when the far right are on the rise attacking communities across the country, using immigrants as scapegoats, we can’t allow for any space for this type of hate on our campus. Join us to show that the University community in Edinburgh is anti-racist. We welcome refugees and migrants✊

Thanks so much to the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) Women's Committee for explaining so well that the racist protests currently happening againt refugees and asylum seekers in Falkirk are falsely presented as attempts to protect women and children! 😠. As this letter to the Minister for Equalities in Scotland explains, women and children in Scotland (as in other places) are more likely to experience sexual harrassment and gender-based violence by male offenders who are known to them and come from all religions, races and classes.
