TOUR DE FRANCE GRAND DEPART 2028 ANNOUNCED!

It may seem a very long way off, but is it ever too soon to get excited about a Grand Depart?

The 2028 Tour will start in Reims - beautiful champagne country! We usually save the champagne for Paris but ... when in Rome/Reims?

The Grand Depart opening 4 stages will explore the Grand Est region: Marne, Ardennes, Meuse and Moselle. Be prepared for beautiful chateau and of course, vineyards as we visit the 6 regional cities of Charleville-Mezieres, Epernay, Metz, Reims, Thionville and Verdun (so expect WW1 references too).

This is a region packed with history, pretty towns and villages, and glorious countryside. A real treat for the 2028 Grand Depart!

CHARITY TUESDAY!

🎉 We're absolutely over the moon to announce that we'll be joined on tour (stage 17) by Dan and Jayden from the brilliant . They're one of the charities supported by our riders through the William Wates Memorial Trust.

🚲 Having charity visitors on tour is a massive highlight of each tour. Our riders get the chance to hear their story and how the support of their charity impacts young lives, as well as support them in their attempt to ride as much of a stage as they can or want to. In return, the charity visitor gets to have an epic Tour experience that they'll never forget. Win win!

👊 We can't wait to welcome Dan and Jayden on tour and we promise to report back on how they get on! Chapeau!!

2027 Tour of Tours - Highlight #1

The Henri Desgrange Souvenir stage - Galibier & Alpe d'Huez

👀Why we chose the stage: One stage; two spectacular climbs. The Galibier was reportedly Henri Desgrange’s (inventor of the TdeF) favourite climb so we’re pretty sure he’d want it to be included. And by putting it alongside another (the most?) renowned Tour climb of Alpe d'Huez, we have the perfect finale to our 2027 Alps stages – and a lovely hotel to match.

ONLY 3 MORE DAYS TO GO ... .. until we publish the epic 2027 Tour of Tours Route AND our Loops.

All will be revealed - from the epic climbs and the time trials, to the rest days and the transition stages. It's all there! And not just the route, but all our Loops will be published too so that you can start to work out which will be your dream Loop for 2027!

HOW WILL SALES FOR 2027 WORK?
We're going to release 50% of the places for each Loop (including the Grand Loop to ride all 21 stages) for ONE DAY ONLY on 5th June from 9am - 5pm. From 6th June you’ll have to wait until …

Friday 24th July 9am: We will release all remaining places for the 2027 tour.

**2027 TOUR OF TOURS** Spoiler Alert!**

The Tour of Tours Rest days needed to be extra special… so in the Alps, we’re going back to 2023 for an incredible hotel in a lovely village and a cold drink on the patio looking out at the (very, VERY large) mountains. One visit wasn’t enough!

CHARITY TUESDAY!

We love to share stories from the charities supported by WWMT. All your fundraising efforts go towards these brilliant projects, turning young lives around. Tell your supporters all about these success stories so that they can feel great about their contribution too!

LEAH'S STORY - AllChild
When Leah joined the AllChild programme in Year 9, she had been placed by her school on a final warning contract. If there was another incident the school deemed unacceptable, it was likely she would be permanently excluded. Data collected by AllChild flagged her as ‘high risk’ in school engagement and in conduct, as well as below age-related expectations in Maths.

A trusted relationship with her Link Worker allowed her to open up about her anxieties and the reasons behind her behaviour. Though progress wasn’t always linear, Leah ended the programme ready to take on her GSCEs and engage positively with her school and learning.

By the time Leah sat her first GCSE, her teacher was describing her as a ‘star pupil’. Her behaviour was no longer an issue, she had managed to repair relationships with her teachers and was now able to acknowledge her successes and express pride in her achievements.

This is the difference you are helping to make to young lives, giving them hope and opportunities that the rest of us perhaps take for granted.
