Bield’s Blether is back and we’d love you to join us! ☕

After a short break, Bield’s Blether is returning and we’re looking for new members.

Hosted by our Community Connections Officer, Kalli Fox, it’s a relaxed online chat where you can enjoy a cuppa, share your thoughts and talk about the topics that matter to you.

We’re recruiting cooks across five of our Retirement Housing with Meals services. If you’re looking to move away from late nights and long kitchen hours, these rewarding roles offer the chance to prepare traditional, home-cooked Scottish meals that make a real difference to older people.

Castlebrae Glebe, our Retirement Plus development in Edinburgh were delighted to welcome Specsavers to talk about their home visit programme for eye and ear health checks. All of our tenants had the opportunity to receive a free ear health check and those who wear glasses were given a complimentary cleaning spray as part of a lovely goodie bag.

Our tenants really enjoyed the visit from Specsavers and were especially pleased with their free goodie bags! It was a great opportunity to learn more about maintaining good eye and ear health in a friendly and accessible way.

Specsavers offer home visits to services and individuals who may benefit from receiving eye and ear care in the comfort of their own setting, making vital healthcare more accessible for everyone.

A big thank you to the Specsavers team for taking the time to visit us and provide such a valuable service! 👓👂

Get help with your energy bills this Winter 💷

The Warm Home Discount Scheme is reopening this month and could help eligible homes with their electricity costs.

Some people will receive the discount automatically, while others will need to apply directly to their energy supplier.

The discount is applied directly to your electricity bill, it isn’t paid to you as cash.

Canalympics champions! 🎉 🏆

Our tenants at Mansewood Court in Whitburn had a fantastic time at their Annual Canalympics at Craigswood Sports Centre, organised by SMILE in West Lothian.

Taking part in a range of fun events, including curling, cup stacking and hook-a-duck, our tenants enjoyed an afternoon of friendly competition, laughter and community spirit.

After weeks of preparing their own flags and T-shirts, the team proudly marched behind a piper, before going on to win the overall Annual Shield! 🏆

The event is a highlight of the year, bringing people together, building confidence and friendships and supporting physical and mental wellbeing.
