We're searching for a Youth Development Chef to help deliver our catering enterprise while supporting young people to build confidence, practical skills and positive relationships through food.

📍 35 hours per week
🕒 Mon–Fri daytime (occasional evenings & weekends)

Our biggest year to date! (Yes, we say that every year... but it's true.)

Our AGM & Scraduation last week was the perfect chance to celebrate just how much has happened over 2025-26.

We've supported 113 young people through our programmes and volunteering opportunities, opened our second café, and almost doubled in size along the way.

The achievements are endless and we're incredibly proud of every young person, volunteer, customer and supporter who's been part of the journey.

Well done to the INCREDIBLE young people who have made this year at Scran full of energy, laughter and moments to be proud of.

Scraduation 2026 was a brilliant celebration of everything they’ve achieved this year. From gaining an impressive total of 72 qualifications to contributing an incredible number of volunteer hours, they’ve worked hard, pushed themselves and achieved so much.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve accomplished. Please join us in celebrating their dedication, resilience and all the effort they’ve put in along the way.

We can’t wait to see what comes next for this amazing group. They’ve got big plans, and we know they’re going to do great things. 💛✨

Team Scran Café at RHCYP were at the National Youth Work Awards last week, where they were Team of the Year finalists.

Well done to the team for all their hard work in making our newest and largest café a place that supports young people through paid jobs, work placements, and volunteering, and for creating a comforting environment for young patients in the hospital.

Shoutout to the well deserved winners .aberdeen 👏

Happy Volunteers’ Week 💛

We want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who gives their time and energy to support Scran.

Our tutors have provided an incredible 81.5 hours of support this year, helping young people build confidence, skills and qualifications that will support their next steps.

Thank you to our Academy support volunteers, who work super hard to make the Academy a fun place for our young people and staff, and to our corporate volunteers from Barratt Homes and Aegon providing baking lessons, decorating our space and more.

We’re also really grateful to our photographer for capturing the work we do so thoughtfully, and to our trustees for their ongoing guidance and commitment, helping Scran grow and reach more young people each year.

We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for being part of it and the Scran Fam🙌

Join us in 4 weeks time for a Midsummer's Party

It's going to be a great day with food, music and fun events such as crafts and dancing.

You’ll be against some of the Scran team themselves including 4 incredible young people who have been training hard.

Interested in doing Tough Mudder this year on behalf of Scran Academy? 👨‍🍳 This years event will take place Saturday 6th June 2026 at Hopetoun Estate, South Queensferry 📍

Participants can choose between a 5 km course with 12+ obstacles (Ages 14+) or a 15 km course with 20+ obstacles (Ages 16+) 🧗🏼‍♀️

Scran will cover the registration cost, and in return they ask each participant to commit to raising a minimum of £200 to support their important work. It’s a great team challenge and a fun way to support young people through Scran Academy’s programmes 🍳
