From the glaciers of Chimborazo, where meltwater begins its journey, to the wide Atlantic mouth where fresh water meets the sea. The Amazon River flows across nearly an entire continent. It’s the greatest river on Earth, carrying more water than the next seven largest rivers combined. Along the way it sustains countless communities, cultures, and one of the richest ecosystems on the planet.

Most people think Everest is the highest point on Earth.
But, if you measure from the center of the Earth instead of sea level, the title goes to Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador.
Because the Earth bulges at the equator, Chimborazo’s summit sits about 2 km farther from Earth’s center than Everest’s peak making it the closest place on the planet to the Sun. 🌍☀️
