What a stunning day for a clean up! Thank you to all who came to help. I failed completely to get a photo of the first volunteer group so apologies for that. Thanks also to Dr Scott Arthur MP and Cllr Fiona Glasgow for coming along too. Delighted at how little litter there was. Well done all and thank you!

Pleased to report the Currie Community Orchard sign is back after its spring clean.

Thanks to Currie Balerno Rotary Club and our local Men’s Shed for the hard work. 😀

A big welcome to our new friends who have joined our page recently 🤗 Great to have you in our local grassroots environmental organisation!

A bit of sad news though to update on: our beautiful handcarved Currie Community Orchard sign in King George V Park, Currie, has disappeared!

If anyone spots it in the undergrowth or round and about - please let us know so we can rescue it.

Hopefully with the help of our fellow groups Currie Community Centre Currie Community Council Currie Balerno Rotary Club and the Pentlands Men’s Shed, we can get something sorted. 🙏🏼

When you're finished with your plastic sweets and chocolate tubs (and no judgement if that's happened already!) then remember you can support Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland by dropping your tubs off at participating Greene King Brewery pubs between 1 January and 15 January.

Bring your clean, empty plastic confectionery and biscuit tubs to participating Greene King pubs and their Tub2Pub recycling solution stops them ending up in landfill. In 2025 they collected over 240,000 tubs, weighing in at a record-breaking 27,990 kg of plastic - more than all previous years combined.
