Free food and fun for pre-school kids and their carers. A safe place to meet, play & eat, right in the centre of Wester Hailes.

Just enter the Bridge Cafe at Holy Trinity Church through the cafe door to find a bright and friendly play cafe.

We are aware there are lots of bank holidays and the summer holidays are not too far in the distance so wanted to let you know the dates that Play cafe is open and closed.
(Generally open Edinburgh schools' term time and closed on holidays but occasionally we stay open on bank holidays!)

We are very sorry but most of the play cafe team (and families) are unwell so we have had to make the decision to close play cafe for tomorrow. We should all be back fighting fit next Monday and look forward to seeing you then! Sorry for the inconvenience x

This coming Monday, 24th, is a special Play cafe as we have the Starcatchers team coming for a pop-up Narnia session. They work with wee ones from 0 - 5 years old and their families and this will be a child-led, fun-filled sensory experience. We will have the usual snacks and drinks available too. You are welcome to drop in at any point, though may want to get here from 9:30am to get the whole experience. It would be great to have a good group of wee ones there to enjoy this so feel free to bring along friends or relatives who may enjoy this too!

Play cafe opens again next Monday 27th after our October break and we are looking forward to our wee light party! Come along and join the fun x

Today is our last play cafe before the Easter holidays! We will be enjoying some Easter crafts, sensory play, snacks and story and songs. Hope to see you there!

Hey! My name is Freya.
I have a 3 year old son, called Harris.
My favourite Disney film is a hard decision because there is so many and they’re all so good but it would have to be either Tangled or Elemental.
I started coming along to Play Cafe in September 2022 with Harris to meet other parents, as being a first time mum can be so lonely. I loved Play Cafe so much that I became part of the team when Harris started nursery in 2024.
