French High School Students Rise Up
From September 17th, high school students and staff staged blockades throughout France. This was to protest deteriorating educational conditions. The tempo of these blockades and demonstrations increased on September 29th and 30th.

Lack of teachers, teaching assistants, special needs assistants, and nurses; poorly insulated and unrenovated facilities; and untenable class schedules… All high school students in France are suffering the consequences of insufficient funding for the national education system. This has sparked a nationwide mobilisation that is shaking the media and the government.

'Anger in the streets': Tens of thousands protest in Spain over housing crisis

Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets across Spain calling for greater protections for tenants after the government failed to get emergency housing legislation through parliament on Friday.
About 50 planned marches are taking place on Saturday in cities including Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
"There is a lot of anger in the streets," said a spokesperson for the Valencia Tenants' Union, where a demonstration has already started. Clashes have taken place between some protesters and police in the city...

On Friday night, Madrid's Tenants' Union said that although the government's proposed measures were insufficient, the rejection of the proposed legislation "exacerbates the housing crisis which is costing the working class their lives".
It is calling for a general strike over the housing crisis.

More than 50 protests took place on Saturday after the government failed to get emergency legislation through parliament.

ACTIVIST FAIR is coming very soon....! Saturday 10th October, 11-5. Dunbar Hall, Dunbar Street in Old Aberdeen. This is our 5th annual fair and we have info. stalls from campaign groups, radical booksellers, craftivism, workshops, a cafe and lunch! Another reason then for us to show the amazing poster (and you will be able to get a copy if you come to the fair...)!

Thursday 1st October 2pm till approx 3/ 3.15pm

Join us at the Edinburgh Coalition Against Poverty stall to give solidarity to claimants, we will be leafleting outside Leith jobcentre (199 Commercial St, Edinburgh EH6 6QP)

Along with our leaflets on resisting sanctions and claimants’ rights, we will have leaflets and posters declaring solidarity with migrants and refugees :
"Unemployed, migrants, workers, disabled - Stronger Together."

The more people there the better…..no need to let us know you are coming just turn up for however long you can make it….

Do note the stall going ahead depends on the weather, if its heavy rain or high winds we have to cancel.
