💚 Continuing Lois’ Legacy 🐑🐾

We’re delighted to share our lovely new banner, which tells the story of The Lois Sherret Trust and what we hope to achieve in Lois’ memory.

Lois had a lifelong love of animals, and through the Trust, we want to share that passion with the next generation; encouraging kindness, compassion and a greater understanding of animal welfare.

Through The Sherrets’ Sma Haddin, our children’s book, and visits to schools, we hope to inspire young people to care for animals and understand the importance of treating all living creatures with kindness and respect.

Our new banner will help us spread that message wherever we go!

🐾 World Animal Day - 4th October 🐾

Today we celebrate the animals who bring so much love and joy into our lives. ❤️

Lois and Graham shared a wonderful love for animals, rescuing and caring for every animal that came into their lives. Although Lois is sadly no longer with us, her kindness and compassion for animals live on through The Lois Sherret Trust. 🐾

How fantastic is this?! ❤️ We’d love to see as many people as possible who knew and loved Lois there, coming together for what promises to be a really special day.

A wee girl with a huge love for animals, just like her Auntie Lois. 🥰 It’s so special to see that same love and kindness shining through in her family and helping to carry Lois’ legacy forward. We know Auntie Lois would be so proud. ❤️🐾

🐾 It’s International Dog Day! 🐾

Lois loved hur dugs. ❤️ Every single wan o’ thum was a rescue, and they brought her so much love, fun and happiness ower the years.

So today, in memory of Lois and all the dugs she loved, we want tae see yours! 🐶

The Sherrets’ Sma Haddin has reached Canada! 🇨🇦📚

Here’s Cameron enjoying his copy. It’s especially lovely to know his dad was born in Dumfries and grew up in Lochmaben, making this a wonderful connection to his Scottish roots.

Today, trustee Claire visited the wonderful Mossburn Community Farm, a place that held a special connection to Lois, as some of Lois' and her family's rescued animals came from there.

Mossburn has always provided a safe and caring home for rescued animals, and it's a truly special place to visit.

Entry is free, with donations warmly welcomed, and there's also a fantastic charity shop full of beautiful pre-loved clothes and other great bargains.

If you're looking for somewhere to visit, we highly recommend Mossburn Community Farm. ❤️🐴🐑

We were delighted to begin our school visits with Trustee Claire's visit to her own P3 class at Moffat Academy. It was wonderful to share The Sherrets' Sma Haddin and encourage children to develop the same love of animals that Lois and Graham Sherret shared, alongside a love of storytelling and Scots.

This first visit was made possible thanks to Moffat Academy's wellbeing dog, Barney. We look forward to bringing our own animals to future visits once the necessary paperwork is in place. 🐾
