Volunteer stories . Here's our Beach Hut Caretaker/ Amigo who is currently resting after hurting her foot. Get well soon Lynne.
Hi, I'm Lynne! I've been volunteering for Amelia's Rainbow for six years, and along with helping out at events, I am the Amelia’s Beach Hut Caretaker.
I love that at Amelia's Rainbow, the impact is immediate. All the small moments add up fast, and I know I am part of that successful machine. The energy is contagious, and a few hours of volunteering reminds me how much joy there is in simple things.
My fellow volunteers (the Amigos) and the staff are so like-minded and supportive. It feels less like “work” and more like being part of a team that really cares.
The time I give fits perfectly around my life because Amelia’s Rainbow is so flexible. Whether it is a couple of hours helping at events, or rolling up my sleeves to keep the beach hut operation running smoothly behind the scenes, I can give what I can and still know I am making a difference.
I always leave feeling useful, uplifted, and looking forward to the next time!
