We’re a registered charity primarily supporting the ministries of The Good Samaritan Church in Romania

‘Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this, to look after orphans and widows in their distress . . . ‘ (James 1:27)

Heart response is a Christian charity set up to follow Jesus’
example of selfless love and to fulfil the call in James to support
marginalised women and children in our world. Heart response aims to respond practically, financially and
prayerfully to Christian ministries, primarily in Romania, serving
the needs of desperate women and children in their society. Heart response seeks to raise awareness of the people and
projects they support, highlighting the difficulties, but also
sharing stories of hope and encouragement.

🇷🇴🧡 Children in a poor village in Romania called Silivas have sent us a lovely message this week thanking us for the shoeboxes we will be sending this year.

We are aiming for a total of 400 shoeboxes...could you support us reach our goal?

We are in particular need of the older age groups…9-12 years and 13-15 years.

Every box is a little reminder that someone cares… 🧡

🧡🇷🇴 The Shoebox Appeal 2026 is off to an amazing start! Thank you for your shoebox donations so far, we appreciate all those who are getting involved!

🧡🇬🇧 A lovely Morning at Shipton Gorge at our pop up Sunday school.

A huge thank you to everyone who prayed for the pop-up Sunday School at Shipton Gorge. It went really well, with 6 children and 12–13 adults joining us! 🌟

We spent time sharing about the Shoebox Appeal, reflecting, worshipping and praying together, and even made some lovely cards…🧡

We are praying for a wonderful response and that many children will be blessed through the appeal in Romania this Christmas time! 🇷🇴 🎁 🙏

Shoebox Appeal 2026 is here! 🧡🇷🇴

This year, Heart Response is bringing joy to marginalised children and teenagers in Romania, and you can help make a difference this Christmas time.

Choose an age and gender, fill a decorated shoebox with new items from the suggested list, and help give a child a gift they’ll treasure. 🎁

📦 For boys & girls aged 5–8, 9–12 and 13–15 years
🏷️ Please label your box with the age and gender
🎁 All items must be new with tags
📅 Donations must be made by Sunday 8th November
📍 Drop-off points are in Dorchester, or get in touch and they can arrange collection.

🧡🇷🇴 Thanks to your incredible support, Heart Response has funded an unforgettable day trip to the zoo for children from Veresmort, one of the poorest villages our partner organisation works with.
