As the last week of the summer holiday’s approaches, all of us at DFS take a pause to reflect on the success of this year's Summer Holiday Food Programme. ☀️
With the help of generous donations and volunteers, 175 local families whose children receive free school meals, were able to fill their bags with fresh meat, ham, cheese, eggs, lots of fruit, vegetables, cereal and a selection of food staples for 5 weeks of the summer holidays.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this possible.
Firstly for everyone who donated and continues to donate, we couldn’t do it without you, Thank you ❤️
Thank you to all our suppliers 🚚,
Roberts Foodservice for supplying all the fruit, vegetables and eggs. 🍎🍊🍅🍌🥔🧅🥚🥒
Andrew Clarke from Little Angus Butchers based in Grimstone for supplying all the meat and cheese. 🧀🍗🥩
Booker Catering for supplying various other store cupboard items. Always a pleasure to work with the lovely Colin who did the majority of the deliveries for bookers as usual. 🍞🥫🧃
To Sharon Community Champion Dorchester at Tesco, who gave us 10 trays of clothing which our families absolutely loved. We had some fantastic comments and a beautiful picture from a mum of her young daughter in a dress looking very happy. Thank you Sharon. ❤️👚👕
A big thank you to St. Osmund's School who came to our rescue when our usual base at Thomas Hardye School was no longer available due to electrical issues.
Mr Beet, the deputy head gave us his blessing to use the school and site team together with the staff from St Osmund's Sports Centre. They have been fantastic, giving us access, providing help and making us feel very welcome each and every week. Thank you. 🏫
Finally a big thank you to all our amazing volunteers who show up each week helping with unpacking and guiding families as they show up to collect their food, you are all amazing!
Enjoy the last week of the summer holidays and good luck to everyone returning to school in September. We are off to plan for Christmas! See you then!
Love Dorchester Family Support ❤️
