As school starts again today after the Easter Holidays we are reflecting on our first ever Easter Holiday hampers!

We are so excited that this year, because of generous donations, we could provide a hamper in the Easter Holidays like we do at Christmas.

We chose to do a chicken dinner hamper, and provided our families with a chicken and all the trimmings, along with some Easter goodies 🙂

We had around 200 local families sign up whose children receive free school meals during term time.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make this possible.

Exciting News for the Easter Holidays!
We are excited to announce that for the first time we will be providing an Easter Food Hamper! Letters have gone out to schools today so keep an eye out for an e mail!

Exciting News! 🗞️
After a successful application to the National Lottery, we were excited to receive a generous grant from The National Lottery Community Fund. This will help us continue to provide food hampers for local families in need within our community over the next 2 years ❤️

As Christmas approaches in a few days we are reflecting on a great few days of sorting, packing and distributing our Christmas Hampers to approximately 250 local families whose children receive free school meals.

We wanted to thank everyone who helped make this possible.

We’re here at Dorchester Baptist Church and getting ready to welcome our families from 12 midday to collect their Christmas hampers 🎄🎁

It’s that time of year again🎄🛍️
We need your help. Every Christmas we provide a food hamper for families whose children receive free school meals. We would love to provide these hampers in a festive sturdy Christmas themed bag for life. In order to do this we need 300 bags.
Please can you help us help our families this Christmas by donating any sturdy Christmas themed bags you might have.

If you haven't got one to donate you could always buy one.

The bags need to be large, strong and able to carry a sizeable load of tins, packets and Christmas fare. A sturdy festive Bag for Life or Jute/Hessian Bag would be perfect.

Bags can be dropped off at the office at Dorchester Baptist Church, The Dorford Centre, 1 Bridport Road in Dorchester. It's right by the Top o' Town roundabout.

We are coming up to Week 4 of our summer holiday food programme. Each week has been well attended by lots of local families who were able to fill their bags with fresh meat, ham, cheese, eggs, lots of fruit, vegetables, cereal and a selection of food staples.

Local business Roberts Foodservice supplied our fresh vegetables, fruit and eggs, whilst our meat and cheese came from Little Angus Butchers based in Grimstone. Having worked with both businesses for a couple of years now, we know to expect fantastic quality each and every time.

This year is the first time we've used Booker Catering in Weymouth to supply us with 'everything else' we need! So far, we've been super impressed with the hard work and dedication shown by everyone there who has worked tirelessly to make this happen for us. Sourcing, counting and delivering well over 3000 items to us on the Wednesday morning is quite an ask, but Bookers pulled it off and everything was delivered with a smile (Thank you Colin and Dean!) 🙂
