After a couple of days reflection, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank all involved once again for this years parade.
The donation page is still live so you can still make a donation if you wanted to, all proceeds go towards event costs and the two chosen charities who also joined us to collect on the night.

Firstly, we would like to thank all the boaters and their crews who put a tremendous effort into the decoration and lights on all of the boats, you make the event what it is. We really do appreciate each and every one of you π
Then we have the wonderful Canal and River Trust local volunteer team who help the boats pass through the bridges and Bramwith lock. You guys are on point each year for the three years we have held the parade. We would also like to point out this team works tirelessly all year round ensuring the upkeep of the canal for us to enjoy, whether you're a boater or just use the tow path in general. Thank you so much π»
We would also like to thank our resident drone pilots who turn up every year and help us capture the magic from the skies above, they never ask for anything from us for doing this and we can't thank them enough. Steve & Nigel, you two are the best.
(I will link their Youtube pages in the comments)
Then we have all the staff at the New Inn, each year they prepare the pub with a tonne of decoration and provide us with the best ending possible where we can all relax and come together to enjoy the evening. Vicky, Kev & Team, you are all superstars π₯°
Finally, we wanted to say thanks once again to so many of you who come out at night in the cold to support this great event, you're the reason we put this on and we hope to continue this event for many years to come. π
We are just putting together a little aftermovie and will also post any pics in the coming days, if you managed to get some good videos or photos of the event, please drop us a message, we would love to see them and use them across our channels and promo.
You may notice we don't publicise the event much, DFP and other social media accounts help to promote the event but just know we don't ask them to. It's fine but we really try to keep it local and for the residents of all the areas we pass through and then across the wider Doncaster area too. This is a free event and if words gets too far, it would become unviable with limited space along the tow path. Your safety is the number one priority and with next year being the 4th parade we will have done, we will be looking to work with South Yorkshire Police once again and hopefully the council to keep the event family friendly and as safe as possible.
If you have any concerns or have noticed anything surrounding the event, please feel free to drop us an email at [email protected] we appreciate all feedback and will always look to improve the event in the best way we can.
Until next year...
Love, the Ghost Ships XX
