Following God is not only about avoiding what is wrong; it is also about actively choosing what is good. Each day gives us opportunities to show kindness, make wise choices and bring peace into difficult situations. Peace does not always happen naturally. Sometimes we have to work for it by being willing to listen, forgive, apologise or simply refuse to add to conflict. God calls us to be people who seek what is right and pursue peace in our relationships and communities. Even small choices can make a difference. When we allow God to guide our words and actions, we can help bring His goodness and peace into the lives of those around us.

We cannot see God with our physical eyes, but His presence can become visible through the way we love and care for one another. Every act of kindness, patience, forgiveness and compassion can show something of God’s character to those around us. Loving others is not always easy, especially when relationships become difficult, but God helps us to love beyond our own limitations. As His love grows within us, it begins to shape our words, attitudes and actions. Our lives can become a reflection of His love in a world that desperately needs it. Sometimes the clearest way someone will experience God’s love is through the way we treat them.

We were saddened to hear that Dolly Parton passed away Tuesday at the age of 80. While most of us know Dolly for her country music, she had a really special connection to Christian music, too.

Her history with the GMA Dove Awards goes back more than 35 years. She performed “He’s Alive” on the Dove Awards stage back in 1990, and over the years she received multiple nominations and wins. She was even nominated for a Dove Award this year.

God does not expect us to face life’s challenges in our own strength. He provides the courage, wisdom and ability we need for whatever lies ahead. There will be times when we feel weak, uncertain or overwhelmed, but God remains our source of strength and security. When we place our trust in Him, He helps us to keep moving forward and guides us along the right path. We may not always understand where He is leading us, but we can trust that He sees the whole journey. Whatever you are facing today, remember that you do not have to face it alone. God is with you, strengthening you and guiding your steps.

Following Jesus is not always the easiest path. There will be times when our faith is challenged, when doubts appear or when circumstances make it difficult to keep trusting God. Faith requires perseverance, especially when giving up or taking an easier route seems tempting. The Christian life is sometimes described as a fight because staying faithful takes determination. It means holding on to what we believe, choosing what is right even when it costs us something, and continuing to trust God when we cannot see how things will work out. But this is not a battle we face in our own strength. God is with us, giving us the courage and strength we need for each day. We can turn to Him in prayer, depend on His promises and remember the hope we have through Jesus.
