Hello Devizes,

It’s hard to believe we’re already in October! I hope you’ve had a chance to complete our Park Yoga survey and perhaps make any final online donation as our season came to a close.

Many of you have asked how to stay connected with us beyond Park Yoga, and it’s truly uplifting to witness such warmth and enthusiasm in our community.

If you’d like to continue your yoga journey, RACHEL runs classes at Sow & Roots in Devizes, at Devizes Wharf, and in Poulshot. You can contact Rachel at [email protected].

AMELIA also teaches at Sow & Roots in Devizes and at the New Body Barn, a dedicated studio just outside Devizes in Lydway. For timings and more details, please visit her website www.ameliagraceyoga.com.

As for me, I’ll be hosting our monthly wintering session on Sunday mornings at the New Body Barn again—please refer to the post picture for dates. Please be aware that the date for the first session had to be changed to this Sunday, the 5th of October 2025. If you interest to join, send me an e-mail [email protected].

Wishing you a wonderful autumn and winter.
If our paths don’t cross before then, I hope we’ll reunite for another season of Devizes Park Yoga next May—fingers crossed!

With warmth,
Yoga with Martina

My admiration to all who braved the chilly autumnal weather this morning and joined me for the final session of our Park Yoga season 2025. 🙏

And what a season it has been! We were truly blessed with remarkably stable, warm weather until these last sessions. Park Yoga Devizes has grown a great deal this year, thanks to each one of you joining and sharing the experience with others. More than 70 people discovered Park Yoga for the very first time this season – a wonderful testament to our ever-growing community.

It was genuinely heartwarming to hear your kind words about what Park Yoga has meant to you and how it has become a cherished part of your weekend routine—a way to start the morning, to reconnect, and to feel reenergised for the week ahead. I’m grateful as well to learn that the themes and inspiration we explored felt timely and relevant for many of you. Please share your feedback in our survey. https://surveymonkey.com/r/parkyoga2025

As we close this chapter, I encourage you to keep carrying the gentle rhythm of our practice with you—whether it’s a mindful breath, a moment of gratitude, or a simple stretch to start your day. Yoga is so much more than the poses we do in the park; it’s the spirit we bring into our lives, the connections we nurture, and the space we create for wellbeing and kindness, both for ourselves and for others.

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you, whether you made it for just one session or attended the whole season. 🙏🧘‍♀️🧘🧘‍♂️👫🐕 Your presence and energy are what make Park Yoga truly special. I enjoyed also all the lovely "with you in spirit" pics when some of you were on holidays. Until next year, may you continue to move, breathe, and find peace wherever life takes you.

Thank you ever so much for your generous donations to our wonderful charity, Park Yoga. Your heartfelt support means the world to us, and, with your help, we hope to keep offering free yoga to even more people within our community. Together, we are making a real difference—helping others to discover the joy, wellbeing, and connection that Park Yoga brings. Your kindness ensures this spirit can continue to grow and flourish for seasons to come.

Last but not least, thank you as well for the heartfelt cards, flowers and thoughtful gifts some of you shared with me—they genuinely touched me, and it felt as though Christmas had arrived early. 😊Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated, and I feel so fortunate to be part of such a warm and caring community.

If you’d like to reach out during our break, please feel free to do so. You’ll find contact details for Rachel, Amelia, and myself in a previous post, and they’ll also be pinned at the top of this page for your convenience.

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday and the cosiest of autumns until our paths cross again.

Take care and keep that Park Yoga spirit with you wherever you go.

Love&light
Martina

Hello Devizes,

Autumn has truly arrived, and the weather has certainly kept us on our toes this week! Fingers crossed for a stretch of dry weather for our final Park Yoga session on Sunday, 14th September, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. 😀

Many of you have asked about ways to stay in touch with us beyond Park Yoga, and it's truly heartwarming to see such enthusiasm within our community.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful cover teachers, Rachel and Amelia, who brought their warmth and expertise to three of our sessions this season.

If you'd like to continue your yoga journey, RACHEL offers classes at Sow & Roots in Devizes, at Devizes Wharf and in Poulshot. Whether you’re new to yoga or have been practising for years, you’re always welcome—just bring your mat, a smile, and let’s flow together. AMELIA also teaches at Sow & Roots in Devizes and at the New Body Barn, a purpose-built studio just outside Devizes in Lydway. For timings and details, please visit her website www.ameliagraceyoga.com.

As for myself, I offer classes in Melksham and Chippenham, online, and for those who enjoyed yoga at Hillworth Park, I will be running our monthly wintering session on a Sunday morning at the New Body Barn again. Please see dates in postpicture. For more details get in touch via [email protected].

I hope to see many of you on Sunday—let’s make it a joyful finale to a wonderful season!

Despite a 50% chance of rain 🌧, around 90 hopeful souls gathered for our morning together, undeterred by the forecast. I was moved by the optimism—seeing the glass half full, with half a chance for perfect weather. 🌦

Many prepared for shelter under the trees already. 🌳🌳🌳 We began with gentle movement to warm up, and as the rain softly joined us, our session became a beautiful, sensory experience—one that felt unifying and memorable. Thank you all for your resilience, your spirit, and the commitment you brought to this rainy day. We explored in our session together how to gently nurturing kindness and compassion, begining by us, and as a reminder of the unique light each of us carries.

As we approach the end of the Park Yoga season, some participants have already shared their farewells since they won't be able to join us for our last session. A heartfelt thank you to the Roberts family for the kind note and beautiful flowers—they truly meant a lot, very touching!

The final session will take place next Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Hillworth Park.

If you have a favourite pose or practice you like to see during this final class, please leave your requests in the comment box and I'll do my best to include them.

Last but not least, please spare a few moments and fill in the survey for this years Park Yoga.

Full of gratidude,

Martina 🙏🌳🧘‍♀️

Our Poem of today🌟

Your Light
Your light does not come from your successes.
Your light is not ignited by perfection,
or achievement or body shape.

Your light is not fuelled popularity or acceptance.
Neither is your light at any risk of being put out,
when other lights around you, are bright.

Your light is simply made of the you-ness that makes you you,
the worries you have in the night,
the music which sparks your joy,
the books you had to read twice,
the memories stored safely in your heart,
The people you love and the people who love you.

Your light is never dependent on how you look,
or how you perform.

It’s just there,
and it’s quite simply brilliant,
and it’s all yours.

And it lights up every room you walk into,
whether you activate it or not.
What a wonderful thing.

Shine bright little fighter,
this dark world needs your glow.

Good evening Devizes, hope you enjoy the mellow evening of this sunny Saturday. I was looking forward to the cinema in Hillworth Park tonigh, a pity it was cancelled.

Just received a message from our headoffice and learned that we have fewer than 20 responses only on this years survey for our Devizes Park Yoga. This is very little to understand how this season went in Devizes from your perspective. Please if you can spare a minute completed the survey. 🙏🙏🙏

The reason for needing a higher number is that without more feedback from our venue, its difficult to prove that we are making a positive difference and negotiations for a future season become trickier.

The participation was amazing this year! The first few weeks we had between 160 to 175 people getting together and over the always a bit quieter summer holidays we had around 100 each week. With this, I hope a few more of you come forward to complete the very important survey. It just takes a few minutes. 🙏🙏🙏

Warm wishes until tomorrow morning,

Martina 🧘🏻‍♀️🌳

As September ushers in the gentle arrival of autumn, do you sense the shift in the air as well? There’s something special about this time of year—a fresh start, a soft turning of the page.

We’re approaching our final two gatherings of Park Yoga Devizes. These are the last chances this season to share Yoga together beneath the leafy canopy of Hillworth Park, embraced by the beauty of nature and the warmth of our wonderful community. I hope you’ll join us to soak in these precious moments.

Yoga, whose name comes from the Sanskrit word for “yoke” or “union,” invites us to draw together, to connect—to unite body, mind, soul, and universal spirit. Through this process, we discover deep freedom, peace, and self-realization.

But yoga’s gifts are not only in the personal journey. For me, and for so many of us, yoga weaves a tapestry that brings people from all walks of life together, creating community, support, and belonging. I hope you’ll feel inspired to come along, to experience these final sessions with open hearts and a sense of togetherness. Let’s celebrate the simple joy of moving, breathing, and being—side by side, under the changing autumn sky.

Sunday morning, 9.30 am - 10.30 pm.

I promis a gentle relaxed session as I am ware that many might come along to the cinema in the park the evening before. :-)

Today, we gently explored the theme of compassion and kindness for ourselves—what we often call self-love. While it's natural for many of us to offer empathy and care to friends and family, extending that same grace inward can sometimes feel more difficult. Our inner critic may speak sharply, or we may be hard on ourselves in different situations. Yet, embracing ourselves fully—with every strength, vulnerability, and shadow—can be profoundly healing. The journey is rarely smooth; sometimes life seems to present challenges that echo our inner doubts. But loving ourselves is an invitation to remember that we are enough and worthy, just as we are. Yoga offers a beautiful way to discover and embody this truth, helping us nurture both body and mind with warmth and acceptance.

Thank you all for coming together this morning, braving the blustery winds and the dance of sunshine and rain. Your presence created a beautiful energy, and your kind words about our Sunday Park yoga truly warmed my heart. It's a joy to share these moments with you, week after week.

We still have two more chances to gather beneath the open sky. During the week, I’ll share how you can stay connected with Rachel, Amelia, and me throughout the winter—we’ll make sure you have all our contact details, so these connections can continue to grow.

Take a look at a few pictures from today. The tea bags and travel tins from our wonderful partner, Yoga Tea, were received with gratitude and smiles all around. Thank you for the warmth you bring to this community.

Have a lovely rest of your Sunday! For all our younger participants a good start back to school.
