Christmas, for many disabled families, is full of unfair extra costs. Like for Shellie, and her 2-year old son Adonis. Adonis was born with Down Syndrome and a chronic bowel disease. His condition requires lots of extra care and support, like extra wipes and nappies, specialist food to replace micronutrients lost through his stoma. And the cost of petrol and parking for hospital visits.

Christmas will be hard for Adonis’s family, as it will be for thousands of disabled families around the country. That’s why we’re launching our Christmas appeal, so that our helpline can be there for disabled families when they need it most.

If you can, help us provide the information families need to make the extra costs of caring for a disabled child more manageable.
