On 3 November 2026, Americans will head to the polls for an important election that could reshape the balance of power in Washington. Although President Donald Trump is not on the ballot, the results will determine who controls the US Congress and could significantly influence his administration's policies over the next two years.

Between 7 and 11 October 2026, demonstrations for Palestine took place on several continents, culminating in a Global Day of Action on Saturday 10 October, three years after the war in Gaza began. Europe saw the largest turnouts: London, Berlin, Dublin, Rome and Paris all reported marches of thousands, with further protests in Warsaw, Athens, Zurich and Istanbul. Rallies also took place in the United States, with demonstrations in New York and Los Angeles, and in Canada, where Toronto saw a protest. In Australia, thousands marched in Sydney and gathered in other cities on 11 October, and New Zealand held a march to Parliament. In Asia, Malaysia held a mass rally outside the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Thailand a gathering at the Israeli Embassy.

🌱 FRESH Project: Serving the Community with Compassion

Alhamdulillah, the FRESH (Food Relief, Smiles & Health) Project was successfully held in Wrexham, North Wales.

This is a collaboration between Wrexham Mosque Foodbank, IKRAM UKE Health & Wellbeing (HWB), Mercy Humanitarian UK (MHUK) and EYST Wales.

🥘🩺🦷 More than 40 families and individuals benefited from halal food parcels, health checks and dental screenings, particularly refugees, single mothers, orphans and those facing difficult circumstances.

A huge jazakumullahu khairan katheera to Dr Nabila Rosaidi and Dr Hafiz Kamarul for leading the initiative, and to all the doctors, dentists, nurses and volunteers who travelled from across the UK to serve the community.

🤝 Special appreciation to Dr Naseem Ghazali, Tun Muzamal Wildan and Mercy Humanitarian UK, who reached out to us and opened the door for this partnership. We hope this is the beginning of a long-term collaboration to reach even more communities in Wrexham and beyond, inshaAllah.

We were also delighted to have young people aspiring to pursue careers in medicine and dentistry volunteering with us. May this experience inspire them to become Muslim professionals who continue to serve and benefit society.

🔸 Wrexham Mosque Foodbank is an initiative founded by our own members M. Muhsin Abd Rahman and Dr Aisyah Ismail, who have been supporting ethnic minority communities, asylum seekers, refugees, single mothers and orphans since 2022.

We hope this collaboration project will help strengthen and expand these efforts, while encouraging more Malaysians in the UK to be active, serve their local communities and contribute positively to wider society.

PERKEMAS Day 3 🥘🧑🏻‍🍳🎁💕

Alhamdulillah on final day, we were blessed with a rainy and windy morning. Despite rainy weather, we managed to proceed with MasterChef Breakfast Challenge, where participants prepared creative breakfast dishes and shared the food together. The children then had a Solat Camp session before everyone packed up for the journey home.

We ended PERKEMAS with a closing session, started with a heartwarming tazkirah by Ustazah Syifa’ Hana, followed by the much-awaited prize giving ceremony and gifts exchange among participants.

Alhamdulillah, Jazakumullahu khayran to all our amazing participants and dedicated committees for making PERKEMAS 2026 a success. Until we meet again at the next PERKEMAS, inshaallah! 🥰
