The 182nd Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta will take place Saturday 21st August - Saturday 28th August 2027. The Dartmouth Regatta Committee take pride in hosting a beautiful local Regatta, to which all are welcome, every year in the stunning port of Dartmouth. Every year, we host rowing, sailing, a Kon-Tiki raft race, a swimming gala, road races, golf tournaments, fireworks and much more!

Congratulations to Kate, whose lovely photograph of seagulls on the South Embankment against a backdrop of Royal Navy Regatta Guardships has been chosen as the winner of this year’s Regatta Photo Competition, and has landed herself £50 prize money.

It was a pleasure to attend the opening event of Dartmouth Food Festival, celebrating the fantastic food, talent and community spirit that make our town so special 🩵

We’re especially proud that our new Regatta Chair, Laura Campbell, is also part of the Food Festival committee, helping bring together two much-loved Dartmouth events with a shared passion for our town.

Community is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s wonderful to see local organisations, volunteers and businesses supporting one another to make Dartmouth such a vibrant place to live, work and visit.

And yes…..the food and drink was AMAZING tonight. You’re all in for a treat this weekend 😋

We wish everyone at Dartmouth Food Festival a fantastic time!

We are delighted to share that Hilary Bastone - President and Rowing Secretary of Dartmouth Royal Regatta - received a special Long Service Award at the WEARA Presidents’ Dinner and Championship Awards, held on Saturday 17th October at the Toorak Hotel in Torquay, in recognition of over 40 years of commitment and voluntary service to the West of England Amateur Rowing Association (WEARA) and the South Coast Championship Regatta.

Hilary’s passion, dedication and hard work have made a lasting contribution to rowing and the regatta community, so this award is a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding service and commitment over so many years.

Please join us in congratulating Hilary - pictured with his partner, Karen, at Saturday’s event - on this fantastic achievement, and thanking him for everything he continues to do for rowing.

The sun came out just in time for Dot’s Surprise “Thank You” Tea Party today in the Royal Avenue Gardens.

Under the watchful eye of special guest Bob The C**k, Dot was presented with flowers by former Regatta Chair, Ed Botterill, and Dot was more than thrilled with her mini version of Bob, which she will treasure and keep as a momento.

Dot reprised her role making teas and coffees for one last time in the Hut, and caught up with friends, so it was a lovely occasion for her. With thanks to Linda Howard for smuggling Dot to the Hut under false pretences, and to Mel Botterill, former Secretary and Deputy Chair for organising today’s gathering and gifts.

Current and past committee members, regatta volunteers and Dot’s friends all had a pleasant afternoon catching up and reminiscing, and enjoyed a slice of cake. Amelia Wright attended on behalf of new Regatta Chair, Laura Campbell, who was unable join Dot today, and Amelia will be presenting Dot with souvenir photos of today’s celebrations in the coming days.

On behalf of everyone, thank you, Dot! 💕

Four years. Four Platinum Awards.

We’re incredibly proud that Dartmouth Royal Regatta has achieved Sailors for the Sea Platinum certification for the fourth successive year — the highest level of recognition in the Clean Regattas programme.

This puts Dartmouth Royal Regatta among a select group of leading, water-based events around the world recognised for their commitment to sustainability, alongside major international regattas and championships in locations such as Hong Kong, New Zealand, Italy and the USA.

With the Clean Regattas programme spanning 53 countries and thousands of events, achieving Platinum is a significant global accolade. Maintaining that standard for four consecutive years is an even greater achievement — showing that sustainability is not a one-off initiative, but something embedded in the way we run Dartmouth Regatta.

A huge thank you to everyone — sailors, rowers, volunteers, visitors, partners, traders, clubs and our wider Regatta community including Town, Local and County Councils and committee members past and present — who help us protect our waters and the environment that makes our regatta so special.

🤫☕ SSSHHHHH… DON’T TELL DOT! 🐓

After many years of keeping us all supplied with endless cups of tea and coffee, it’s time to give our wonderful Dot the send-off she deserves as she retires from our Regatta committee! ❤️

We’re throwing her a SURPRISE FAREWELL PARTY this Saturday 10th October, 2–4pm, at Info Hut, Royal Avenue Gardens.

And of course, Bob the C**k will be there too! 🐓 He’s been by Dot’s side for plenty of Dartmouth Royal Regatta memories, so come and join them both for one last cuppa, a few laughs and a proper Dartmouth farewell☕🥳

The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta is delighted to announce that Laura Campbell has been appointed our new Chair as we go into 2027. Laura succeeds Ed Botterill, who led the Regatta for ten remarkable years and then stayed on for a further year as Acting Chair.

The committee would like to thank Ed for his dedication and for everything he has given to the event and the town.

Laura has been part of the Committee for over six years, having joined to re-position the Dartmouth Mayflower River Parade from Dartmouth Mayflower into the Regatta back in 2020/21.

Laura is joined by newly appointed officers Amelia Wright, Jim C**ker and Karl Stone, alongside the wider existing committee.

Laura said: "The Regatta belongs to Dartmouth. It's the volunteers, the clubs, the businesses and the families who come back year after year who make it what it is, so it's a real honour to step into this role.

Ed and those before him have left us strong foundations, and I'd like to thank him for that. Now it's our job to look after them and keep building, so the Regatta stays something the whole community feels part of.

I'm looking forward to working with Amelia, Jim, Karl and the committee, and with everyone who supports us, to make the 182nd Regatta yet another memorable one."
