Say hello to Lanternhouse - Your home for Cumbernauld Theatre Company and the best theatre, music, comedy, dance, cinema and more. Lanternhouse is a performing arts centre jointly managed by North Lanarkshire Council and Cumbernauld Theatre Trust. Part of the Cumbernauld Academy Campus, we have good bus links, ample car parking, and a short walk from Cumbernauld town centre.

💛 What a weekend! Thank you to everyone who joined us for 'A Town for Tomorrow' as we celebrated Cumbernauld's 70th birthday.

Following over a year of research and conversations with local people, this ambitious community production brought together a cast of over 70 performers alongside live music and dance to celebrate the stories and people that have shaped our town.

A huge thank you to our wonderful cast and creative team, everyone involved behind the scenes and of course our audiences for supporting this special production.

Yates is best known for his role in Joe Simpson’s bestseller ‘Touching The Void’, and is regarded as one of the most accomplished exploratory mountaineers of all time.

In My Mountain Life, audiences can experience the drama, excitement and beauty of modern, lightweight alpinism, as Yates recounts his tireless journey from that mountain in Peru to some of the remotest on the planet.

🎫 Free Ticket Scheme: Applications Open!

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we're able to offer free tickets to our festive panto, Aladdie, and Santa In Love, a studio show for younger children, for community groups supporting individuals and families who might otherwise be unable to attend.

Our Free Ticket Scheme is open to organisations who can arrange and accompany group visits, helping more people experience the joy of live theatre this Christmas.
