A LITTLE CREATIVITY - A LOT OF BENEFITS 🎃

Halloween and autumnal crafts are about more than seasonal and spooky fun - though we all enjoy some of that too!
At CAT, creative activities offer valuable opportunities for our young people to express themselves.

🎨 CREATIVITY & SELF-EXPRESSION
Exploring ideas, making choices and expressing themselves in their own way. There is no ‘one way’ to do the crafts.

🧠 EMOTIONAL REGULATION
Cutting, sticking and creating can be calming, grounding and help improve focus.

💜 CONFIDENCE & SELF-ESTEEM
Building independence, celebrating achievements and discovering what they can do.

🤝 CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION
Sharing activities as a group and building relationships without the pressure of direct conversation.

🐾 AND A LITTLE HOWLOWEEN MAGIC! 🐶

Our four-legged friends add an extra dose of comfort, connection and companionship to the fun!

Sometimes just what you need is a little creativity, a craft and a dog by your side.

Welcome to the 4 newest members of the animal team!
4 wonderful rescue hens from British Hen Welfare Trust Official Group are settling into life on the farm with Vickie.
Our young people have already enjoyed planning their home and enrichment and are beginning to work directly with them, learning all things chicken care, tracking their recovery and getting to know their different personalities.

Name choosing is well underway and will be revealed shortly 🐔🐓. Wishing them all a very happy and relaxing life.

If your child or young person attends our AP and you think some time on the farm would be something they would enjoy- let your key worker know ☺️.

‘Today is WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY and that’s an important thing’ I think 🐶.

Over to the humans…
It’s a reminder that mental health matters every single day and that everyone deserves to feel safe, understood, accepted and supported.

At Creative Action Team, we know that wellbeing looks different for everyone. Mental health is woven into all we do whether that’s a therapeutic session or an educational one. Sometimes progress looks like a big achievement and sometimes it looks like simply showing up, taking a breath, building trust or having the courage to try again.

We believe in meeting young people where they are, celebrating their individuality and creating opportunities for them to grow in ways that work for them.

And of course, we know the power of our four-legged friends.

Sometimes the best conversations happen without words. A wagging tail, a gentle nudge from Ralf, a shared game with Olive or simply sitting alongside one of our calm friends can help create a sense of peace, connection and belonging.
Our dogs offer opportunities to build trust, practise communication and experience the joy of being accepted just as you are.

Through our relationships with animals, creativity, time outdoors and the connections we build, we aim to create a space where young people feel valued, supported and are able to be themselves.

✨ You don't have to have it all figured out.
✨ You don't have to be ok all the time.
✨ Small steps are still steps forward.
✨ Connection can come in many forms - sometimes with four paws and a wagging tail! 🐾

This World Mental Health Day, let's keep talking, listening without judgement and reminding one another that nobody should have to struggle alone.

🌱 Our outdoor space is really coming to life🌱

It’s been brilliant to see how much our outdoor space has developed and even better to see the young people playing such a big part in making it happen.

Together, we’ve been planting, weeding, growing, watering and looking after our new plants and getting stuck into all the practical jobs that come with creating an outdoor space.

It’s been a great opportunity to get outside, get our hands dirty and see the difference that a little time, care and teamwork can make 🌿.

The space is really starting to come together now, and we’re so proud of what the young people have helped to create. It’s becoming a welcoming, calm and purposeful space that we can enjoy throughout the year.

There’s still plenty more to do, but watching it grow alongside the young people has been such a lovely part of the project all while learning important skills for life.

A huge well done to everyone who has got involved so far 🌱🌻

Hello from the CAT dogs 🐶🐾

Today is all about celebrating the wonderful dogs who bring so much joy, comfort, laughter and love into our lives - and we certainly have some very special ones here at Creative Action Team! 🥰

Our dogs are so much more than just part of the team. They are our family, friends, companions, bundles of joy and for many of the young people we work with, a source of connection and unconditional acceptance ❤️.

They have an amazing way of making people smile, helping us feel safe and reminding us that sometimes the best therapy and education comes with four paws and a waggy tail 🐕✨.

So today, from all of us (especially the CAT dogs!)…

Happy International Dog Day (all enjoying the hols as you can see) 🐾❤️.
