Tomorrow is World Table Tennis Day, and it also marks 100 years since the first World Table Tennis Championships in 1926.

With funding from Crewe Town Board, Cheshire East Council has recently installed outdoor table tennis tables in Crewe at:
• Lime Tree Avenue🏓
• Samuel Street 🏓

They’re free to use and a great way to get active and enjoy time outdoors. Why not give them a go!

Improvements are continuing to be made across our Pocket Parks in Crewe – helping to create brighter, more welcoming spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Our latest updates include brand-new outdoor table tennis tables at both Samuel Street and Lime Tree Avenue, offering fun new ways to get active and spend time outdoors 🏓

These improvements have been made possible thanks to £22.9m of government Towns Fund investment allocated to Crewe, which is supporting a wide range of projects across the town 💼

The Pocket Parks project is a partnership between Cheshire East Council and Crewe Town Council, aiming to enhance eight parks across the town. Six parks have already been transformed, with more improvements on the way

The sun was shining when the new Southern gateway was opened on Friday. We can't guarantee the weather unfortunately but the new connection between the town centre and High Street is great for walking and cycling.

Our 'Southern Gateway' scheme in is now open!

We’ve transformed a derelict site into a new pedestrian and cycle route linking High Street and Forge Street. 🚶🚲

☑️ Part of a wider project to improve access to the town centre from the south of Crewe, including from the railway station and Crewe Alexandra
☑️ Attractive space with seating
☑️ A great link to the Youth Zone (opening next year)
☑️ Already helping to boost local investment – several new businesses have already opened thanks to this connection.
☑️ Funded by Government, delivered by the council.

Thank you to nearby businesses for your patience during the construction works.

Say hello to A Very Crewe Christmas🎄

A brand-new way to explore, shop, eat and celebrate across Crewe this winter.

Over the next few weeks you’ll start spotting festive displays, decorated windows, selfie moments and plenty of places to enjoy across the town centre, Nantwich Road and Grand Junction Retail Park, all coming together to create a brighter and more connected festive season.

Included in this year’s campaign is the Crewe Christmas Express Trail, which has been designed to encourage families to explore the town.

The five-stop route includes clues and trail words to complete a Christmas word search, with a bonus Golden Stop at Crewe Station celebrating the town’s rail heritage. Trail sheets will be available soon at Crewe Market Hall and on our website, and there’s a £200 prize up for grabs to spend in Crewe this January.

We’re also celebrating everything happening across the town, including:

✨ New festive lights at Grand Junction Retail Park, funded by Crewe BID
🎁 The Nantwich Road Christmas tree, also funded by Crewe BID
🎅🏻 Nantwich Road Action Group’s Christmas activity, supported by Crewe BID and joined by the Rotary Club of Crewe at 10am on Saturday, December 20th
⭐ The Christmas Lights Switch On, brought to you by Crewe Town Council this Saturday (November 29th) with stalls, entertainment, crafts, walkabout characters, a lantern parade, mini rides and the big switch on at 7pm

Are you a local business planning something festive? A menu, event, offer or late-night shopping date? Send your info to [email protected] so we can include you.📩

A new children’s play area and gym equipment has been installed at Lime Tree Avenue. A new footpath has also been laid as one of our Pocket Parks nears completion. Benches will be installed soon.

Works on the Pocket Park at Samuel Street are also under way.

The Pockets Park project aims to see eight pocket parks in Crewe become more attractive and better equipped spaces for people to spend time, play and enjoy physical activity.
