๐Ÿ’š Thank You for a Lovely Wellbeing Wednesday! ๐Ÿ’š

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Wellbeing Wednesday session last night โ€“ it was fantastic to see such a wellโ€‘attended event and so many of you getting involved!

We had some beautiful, colourful windchimes made. It was wonderful to see everyone relaxing, chatting, and enjoying the evening together.

It was also inspiring to hear about the amazing work being done by The Crisp Packet Project โ€“ such a fantastic initiative making a real difference ๐Ÿ’š

A special thank you to Ange from Nonna Glass for leading such a brilliant session, and to Woodnoth cm Shavington WI for serving the refreshments, which were very much appreciated โ˜•๐Ÿช

Thank you again to everyone who joined us and made it such a special evening. Weโ€™re already looking forward to the next one!

โ™ป๏ธ Join us tomorrow โ€“ help turn waste into warmth ๐Ÿ’š

A fantastic community initiative is launching in Shavington-cum-Grestyโ€”and weโ€™d love you to be part of it.

The Crisp Packet Project is bringing people together across Mid Cheshire to transform everyday waste into something truly meaningful. By washing and repurposing used crisp packets, volunteers create insulated blankets and sleeping bags for people experiencing homelessness, which are donated to Crewe-based charity LATH.

Now, Shavington-cum-Gresty Parish Council is proud to be partnering with the projectโ€”and weโ€™re inviting residents, schools and community groups to get involved as we grow this initiative locally.

Support is already building, with pupils from Shavington Primary School collecting crisp packets and helping spread the message about recycling, sustainability, and community spirit.

Come along to the launch session tomorrow and see how you can get involved:

It was lovely to see so many residents at the Village Festival on Saturday and to have the chance to chat with so many of you.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, share their thoughts, or ask questions. We always value the opportunity to hear what's important to local people and to catch up with familiar faces as well as meet new ones.

It was also wonderful to see so many children enjoying the sun catcher activity and getting creative throughout the day.

๐Ÿ“š What a difference a week makes! ๐Ÿ“š

A huge thank you to everyone who responded to our recent appeal for children's books for our Telephone Box Book Exchange. The response has been absolutely fantastic! ๐Ÿ’š

We're delighted to say that the children's book shelves are now full once again, with lots of wonderful books ready to be discovered by young readers. We've also had plenty of additions to the adult book section too, making our little library more stocked than ever.

It's wonderful to see our Telephone Box Book Exchange being so well used and supported by the community. Thank you to everyone who has donated books, borrowed books and helped keep it tidy and welcoming for all.

Happy reading! ๐Ÿ“š

We were delighted to welcome over 50 people to yesterdayโ€™s Heritage Group meeting โ€“ a fantastic turnout and a real testament to the communityโ€™s interest in our shared heritage.

A big thank you to Adrian Hancock for his engaging and insightful talk on Early Victorian Shavington. It was fascinating to learn more about our local history and how the village developed during that period.

We look forward to hearing what happens next in the story of Shavington-cum-Gresty!
