πŸ”₯ DRUMGOR DETACHEDS: OUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE πŸ”₯

Another positive evening out with the Drumgor Detacheds team.

Lots of great engagements throughout the night, taking time to chat, listen and build positive connections with young people across the area. It was fantastic to see so many meaningful conversations taking place and such positive interactions from everyone involved.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening’s activity, with the team continuing to make a real impact in the community.

This afternoon, Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project held our youth-led Coffee Afternoon in aid of Macmillan at North Lurgan Community Centre.

A huge thank you to all members of the community who attended and supported the event.

An especially big thank you goes to our young people, who played a leading role in making the afternoon such a success. Through planning and delivering the event, they developed valuable skills including communication, teamwork, cooking, organisation and customer service.

We were delighted to welcome Lord Mayor Cllr Mary O’Dowd, who attended and presented a donation on behalf of ABC Council.

Thank you also to Cllr Keith Haughian, Cllr Peter Lavery, Cllr Chloe Devine, John O’Dowd MLA and Eoin Tennyson MLA for taking the time to attend and support our young people.

We are still counting the donations and look forward to sharing the final amount raised in the coming days.

A fantastic day, showcasing the talent, commitment and potential of young people in North Lurgan.

A huge thank you to First Minister Michelle O’Neill for taking the time to record this message in support of DDYWP’s Coffee Afternoon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. πŸ’šβ˜•

We really appreciate Michelle’s support for this important fundraiser and her kind words about DDYWP and the amazing young people we have the privilege of working with every day.

Our Coffee Afternoon will take place this afternoon from 1:30pm–3:30pm at North Lurgan Community Centre, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event is being organised by our fantastic North Lurgan Young Men’s Group, who have been working incredibly hard to make it a success. We’d love to see as many people as possible come along, enjoy a cuppa, and support this worthwhile cause.

Thank you again, Michelle, for your encouragement and support. πŸ’š

🌊🎨 Vibrant Ocean Creatures! 🐬✨

Creating, Exploring, Belonging!

Tonight our Taghnevan Inters brought their sea creatures to life by painting the amazing creations they made last week as part of our Art & Creative Media Programme.

There was plenty of paint, lots of messy play, and of course a generous helping of glitter added to the mix! ✨🎨 From bright blues and shimmering scales to sparkling sea-inspired designs, everyone’s creativity was on full display.

The fun didn’t stop there! We also got hands-on creating our very own squishy sea creatures, with lots of laughs and smiles along the way. πŸ™πŸ¦€πŸ

It’s been fantastic to see everyone’s imagination, confidence and creativity grow throughout the project, and most importantly, to see everyone enjoying every minute of it.

Thanks to all our young people for another brilliant session.

See you all soon! πŸ™ƒ

Today at our North Lurgan Juniors group, the young people enjoyed a relaxed and fun-filled session. Activities included FIFA matches, colouring in their favourite footballers, and a wide variety of board games.

Throughout the session, we focused on participation, connection, and teamwork, encouraging everyone to get involved, build friendships, and support one another.

πŸ’¬ "Youth work is about helping young people discover their strengths, build confidence, and realise their potential."

A special shout out to our star of the week Zoe for continued goos behaviour 🌟

It was fantastic to see everyone engaging, having fun, and working together. Well done to all who took part! πŸ‘
