Last night the residents got together to watch England beat Croatia 4-2.
There was pizza, plenty of laughs, a bit of football-induced stress, and some good company.
When people come into recovery, life can be pretty full on. There are groups, one-to-ones, meetings, difficult conversations, and often consequences from the past that need to be faced and worked through. None of that is easy.
That’s why nights like this matter.
For a few hours, people got to switch off, have a laugh, enjoy the match and spend time together. It might not sound like much, but for people who have spent years isolated, disconnected, or caught up in addiction, these moments are important.
It’s often in simple evenings like this that people begin to feel part of something again. Not judged, not labelled, not defined by their past, just sharing a few laughs and enjoying the company around them. Learning how to have fun with out substances❤️
Good match. Good pizza. Good people. ⚽🍕❤️
