🚨 Updates from our responses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Venezuela:
🇨🇩 In the DRC, our teams are on the front lines of a deadly Ebola outbreak. More than 560 patients have been admitted to our two Ebola Treatment Centres, with more than 380 already discharged. Beyond the walls of these facilities, we have reached more than 395,000 people with life-saving prevention messaging and installed 190+ handwashing stations to help protect vulnerable communities.
🇻🇪 In Venezuela, our Emergency Field Hospital is providing critical care to families devastated by a powerful earthquake. Our medical teams have treated more than 5,700 patients and performed 329 surgeries, while relief teams have assisted more than 33,000 households with food, shelter, clean water and essential supplies.
To sustain this massive response, six Samaritan’s Purse 767 flights have carried nearly 592,000 pounds (268 metric tonnes) of relief supplies into the country.
Behind every number is a life—a patient receiving critical care, a family finding shelter, or a community being reminded that they are not alone. While we work hard to provide physical relief, we want those suffering to know that God loves them, and has not forgotten them during this difficult time.
