The reserve is well known for the variety and quality of its scenic pools, reedbeds, grassland and woodland. There are nine birdwatching hides throughout the reserve where you can often spot the resident wildlife including kingfishers, otters, bank voles and badgers. Visit the café and shop too. Visit the Parkridge Centre! At the heart of Brueton Park, Parkridge Visitor Centre offers refreshments and everything you need for a great day out in the park. Whether you are out to enjoy the fresh air or would like to watch wildlife, the friendly team at Parkridge are here to assist.

Vacancy | Natural Capital Assessment Partnership Manager | Full time (35 hrs)

We are looking for someone to managing the Natural Capital Assessment Partnership (NCAP), which undertakes projects that gather and analyse natural capital data and manage the Local Wildlife Site programme for the region.

This data is then used to inform nature recovery strategies, local state of environment reports, local plans, planning applications and other nature recovery decision making.

126,000 metres of hedgerow managed for wildlife, thanks to our agriculture team supporting farmers across the county to access funding

Our agricultural advice team have been working hard with our three Sustainable Farm Groups. Over 150 farmers make up these groups and they farm nearly 20% of the farmable area in Warwickshire.

Activities and events have included:
🌳free tree collection and planting advice
🐦farmland bird ringing
🌱soil health assessment
🚜 farming without glycophosphate
🌍climate change adaptation
🧪bio stimulants and freshwater

37,407 volunteering hours recorded in 2025, with an equivalent value of £553,624

We are incredibly thankful to our volunteers who do an immense amount of work for the Trust.

From our Survey Force to Reserves Rangers who go out most days a week to look after local green spaces and carry out wildlife recordings. There are also friendly volunteers in our gift shop and cafe who are always ready to welcome you to our visitor centre.

The wasp spider is a great mimic of the flying insect!

It was first spotted by volunteers in September 2023 along Ashlawn Cutting nature reserve and has recently been spotted again in the same place.

It's a very large, colourful spider that builds large orb webs in grassland and heathland, and attaches its silk egg-sacs to the grasses. The web has a wide, white zig-zag strip running down the middle, known as a 'stabilimentum', the function of which is unclear.

Mating is a dangerous game for males; they wait at the edge of the web until the female has moulted into a mature form, then take advantage of her jaws being soft and rush in to mate. However, many males still get eaten during this time.

Have a wild summer at Brandon! 🌞

We've got lots for you to do over the summer break, with a collection of free outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy.

These games have been kindly handmade and painted by Paul, one of our maintenance volunteers. 🎨

We're open 9.30am - 4.30pm every weekday and 10am - 4pm on weekends. Find us on Brandon Lane, CV3 3GW with free parking for visitors.

There is one week left to apply for this job role!

We are looking for someone to lead on the development and implementation of the Trust's Grazing Strategy by prioritising grazing and natural processes as a management tool on the land of the Trust and third parties. 🐄

You'll look at diversifying funding and developing better ways to sustainably manage our grassland sites in order to bring wildlife back. 🌾
