Our Heritage Seed Library 50th anniversary relay packet has reached !
We were delighted to attend the 2026 Scone Palace Fair at the weekend for the launch of our Scottish relay.

A selection of our Scottish heritage seeds are now in the safe hands of Brian Cunningham, head gardener at Scone Palace and we're looking forward to seeing how they progress.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Our golden packet will now head off on its journey across Scotland all the way to the Shetland Islands - and you will be able to see these unique heritage veg growing at 20-plus locations, including:

The garden is buzzing with activity this month and flourishing with flowers and veg.
There is still time to sow many other wonderful varieties as the season progresses. Succession sow crops such as carrots, lettuce, leafy herbs and beans to fuel the kitchen through the summer months – and avoid those gluts!

Thinking ahead...
Recently, across most parts of the country we have seen very warm temperatures. As the weather forecast changes again it may be a good time to think about saving the rain water for the next dry spell. Our partners can help with solutions to save water with their range of water butts.

Pest & diseases patrol...

🌱Leaf spots, rusts and rose blackspot are rarely killer diseases; they just disfigure. Remove affected leaves, flowers and berries and put in the green waste bin for professional composting.

🌱Avoid sprays, even organic ones, as they also target the predators such as hoverflies, ladybirds and parasitic wasps. Squash large aphid colonies with your fingers – wear gloves if squeamish.
